MArdigan, try using gun stinger on the boss in mission 2...I guarantee you will like the results...makes him a real piece of cake even in DMD mode...in fact, after finishing dmd mode so many times..I think I use gunslinger style more than anything else...it's just...too cool! Eh....of coz, i wimp out on bosses n just stick to RG for em...with the exception of the boss in mission 12 (the horse)...sniper rifle+gunslinger+riding the horse while doing damage is too fun ^^

The only gun I haven't gotten around using is...uhmmm what's its name again? It's the one with the multi lock n shoots lasers...(same gun from DMC1).

Just take a look at the vids posted to see what I'm talking about.
        Thanks guys!

I'll check back in the post for the vids, and I'll get the game after I get Resi, I have a bit of a backlog!

Cant remember what it is called in DMC1 but in DMC3 it is called Artemis I think, it the name of some Greek / Roman god, not sure what it means though.

With Mission 2 boss I love clashing as we attack at the same time... do that 3 times on the spin and the style goes through the roof, then roll and attack the bitch, in DMD the only thing that was getting me was her teleport attacks... I was getting caught at first cause I was still trying to get hits in while she started teleporting so her first one always got me. NOW, I am breaking off attack in time and am dodging each of her 3 teleports... piece of pie.

Not that bothered about finishing entire game on DMD, as it will take a ridiculous amount of hours, but a good wee bit of progress is def required. Could do it easily by purchasing loads of devil and vitality stars but thats not how Dante would do it One health bar for each mission... no items getting used, its the only way to play it now, even on DMD.

Am going back through hard game to ensure all bosses know who the gaffer is... Mission 2 and 3 bosses have been schooled only another 8 or something to go, hehehe.

Mardigan : not using any items...attaboy. That's how I approached DMC3 from the very begining...I suppose it's a Shinobi habit on my side...earn ur tate n if u're lucky, u get a health pickup! No supers, no using items! Just CHOP!

I have been lucky enough that a few health powerups have been dropped by enemies when they die, but I think this only occurs if the style gauge is at a high level. Bussin a reaper while the gauge is at Showtime usually gives up the goodies

When going for ranks on Missions using items is daft, immediately takes your rank down before you even fired a shot. Good for breezing through hard sections but if you gonna do that you be aswell putting a skirt on Dante and giving him a lollipop in place of Rebellion

One bar of health and total skill required to progress... this is where you earn your stones, especially on DMD, where only the truly brave venture!!

Was that the Nigthmare Beta in DMC1?

Yes... pretty much the same weapon, devastating if used correctly but lacks the speed required to be truly effective.

haha, that very weapon reminded me of the nighmare boss in DMC1....phat!

The final battle with that boss was, as its title suggests, a Nightmare the weapon was totally modelled with that boss in mind in DMC1 and 3.

                            hehehe

That is some might fine devil hunting there!
The Agni & Rudra tussle was super fun to watch!
I, personally, like to take down the Blue one as soon as possible because I like beating down a "more powerful" boss. Also, I'm only a few more missions away from beating Dante Must Die mode finally. (no time no time)
Also I went back a few weeks ago and started the game from scratch because I wanted to see how fast I could go through normal mode without dying, without missing a blue orb, without missing a weapon, and without using items. I learned two things from this. Cerebus can be an effing jackass when I'm sleepy and also that Artemis pops back up in stage 16(just lying on the ground) if you sped past it the first time on mission 9(that is some pretty cool game design).
So in love with this game!

I was refering to the venom vids from a while back because I favorited the page and thought that was the last reply hahahahahahaha
definitely been gone too long! Sorry!

I am having a love affair with Dante just now. 5 mission in on DMD and am going back through Normal and Hard to ace the bosses. Am opening up some killer skillz with new weapon combinations and styles. My Rebellion / Beowulf Swordmaster is going off the chart, hehehe.

Its amazing how a change of style can give the game a totally different approach... makes it so fresh... like last night I fired up Gunslinger for a shirl and it made me cry it was good. Quite possibly this is the best game of all time I would go THAT far.

Got 108 kills in the credits sequence which was quite nice... the outfit you get for killing over 100 is sick.
