Dante must die is the ultimate mode if your looking to test and increase your reactions because playing dante must die requires a high level of skill and concentration i finished dante must die mode within the first two weeks of getting the game and because when i played DMC and only played it DMD and the fake VERSION no i mean the clone of dante in DMC 2 i also broke that game apart stripped it down then analised everything in that game because i love dante and if you listen to the words of wisdom from the saurian "you can keep fighting and then suiciding before you kill it all day to learn the boss inside out. Just continue after you die and you restart outside the room." you can master the boss fight in hard so when you go the dante must die mode you will be ready but dont follow the same pattern as hard or normal beacause unlike normal to hard the bosses have more moves, more power, tactics and more skull dugeere than ever

That's the mode that I'm playing through now after sussing out all the bosses' tactics and getting used to the styles. My next goal - To S rank the bosses especially against Vergil (mission 20) on DMD! It's gonna take time but it can be done with practice!

Done it on Normal and Hard (check out the vids by the way).
I'm determined to do the same on DMD even though the difficulty is insane!

First up, Cerberus. Oops, I mean Fido!8)

Wooohooooo! Finished it, not with particular style but at least now I can start 'playing for fun'

I copped out and used a few vital stars on the last two missions, and the 3 devil stars I'd collected throughout the game. I guess I should start hard mode now, but I hate seeing all those empty easy mode spaces. I'd be worried that playing on easy might make it a bit dull though.

                It's quick..

Yeah it's kinda dull but it goes by so fast. I went and did easy mode after I finished the other modes and it flys by in like a couple of hours...like three I think.

i found perfecting boss on hard in devil may cry 3 in trickster and royal guard quite simple its Alimentary once you get the hang of it the one boss i cant S rank or perfect is that retard in mission 19 who attempts to sample the power of sparda but it proves oh just too much for the joker unworthy so and so but i can S rank mission 20 in hard and dante must die easy if i am using trickster or royal guard plus i have found a new method using dantes slash roll when vergil starts parrying everything on the second hit thanks to saur and you can use a technique i call the lion jump trick on vergil when hes got low life because thats when he gets deparate i am sure saur put it up on one the forum pages

How did you manage to write half of that in a different font from the other half?

                      Virgil (Hard) got teh PWN?DDDDD!!!

I finally finished Hard Mode...been stuck trying to beat Virgil cuz I didn't want to be a wimp and use any gold/green orbs.... I'm buzzin from beating him.it was proper hard. My Score for Hard mode was all B's except for 6 A's which is all right i suppose.

I didn't expect to unlock anything so it was a nice surprise when

I unlocked more costumes and videos. WTF is with purple suited "I'm Free" Pimp Dante
I like the motion capture video...Saurian posted a vid like them a while back, is it an unlockable to?

DMD mode is MENTAL!! The game gets better and better the more the difficulty is ramped up...I feel DMD mode is a little out of my league but I'll give it a go...I noticed the goons become surrounded by purple smoke if you don't kill them quick enough, what's that about?

I'm going to finish easy first to see if I get more stuff unlocked.

Stick at it...I thought the same about DMD mode when I first started but then you start to realise that this is what games used to be all about, knowing it inside out and how to tackle each situation.

I swear pwning Beowolf on DMD mode is the best feeling! >_<

                          Got any vids?
What tactics do you use and how do his attack patterns differ to Hard mode?
I ask this cos I'm almost on him on DMD and want to be ready!

                            Almost on Beowulf o_0

I got my ass handed to me on the second level, It's like a whole other game.......DMD WILL be done...after easy though.

This game really offers proper value for money...i wish all games had level selects so you can replay the juicy bits over and over and ignore the padding & fluff....Dante got no Fluff though.

As I said in another DMC thread...Is DMC2 REALLY that bad? I never played it...i watched the video review on Gamespot and Dante looks really floaty when jumping and there is a second character called Lucille ? o_0
The stage ain't big enough for anyone but Dante.

It's near identical man! The only thing that's changed is the energy level he needs to be at before he starts increasing the number of stomps/pillars he does. But with the meths we use to beat him (Just Release hurts just as bad!), how much he stamps about wont make a difference cos he dont last that long! - blouse.

It's TRAGIC! - I remember the brer who got me into Devil May Cry in the first place (I was late, dont hit me) got it imported as soon as it came out. I aint joking as soon as the game went on, it was HORRIBLE! He's a savage player yet everything he was doing in this game looked rubbish, and this is during that initial "OMFG new Devil May Cry!!11" phase!

They've blatantly just pandered to the people who cant be bothered to do anything beyond pointing Dante in a direction and repeatedly hitting a button. The style system for a start is gone, instead of being rewarded for stylish, skillful play you can just stand there shooting with Ebony & Ivory holding an S rank for absolutely nothing.

They've ripped the control system to bits so that you dont have any freedom to make stuff up at all, even simple things like Dante's trademark uppercut - handgun juggle, doesnt work properly. A lot of moves from Devil May Cry 2 have made it to part 3 - but this time round they actually work, they're free to manipulate and not just animations.

The enemies are all utter rubbish, cos the camera is pulled so far out Dante (who you can barely ever see in any detail) and everything else he fights looks tiny. WTF is the point of Diesel branded garms for Dante if he's so tiny on the screen you cant see him anyway??? The enemy designs are totally forgettable - they even take the piss further by including clips of Devil May Cry 1 enemies in the intro (they arent in Devil May Cry 2 at all! ). Bosses are huge but there's no strategy or anything clever about fighting them, you pick a weapon and fire and fire till it dies.

The worst example I can think of is these big tanks you fight (Dante fighting tanks.... ) - you can stand right next to them and keep firing Ebony & Ivory. It just sits there unable to move or fire while you hold an S rank for simply firing! >_<

Dante has had some sort of personality bypass aswell, he's not mouthy....I dont understand how Dante cant be mouthy - his sheer disrespect for screen sized bosses never fails to crack me up.

Still it was worth it for the joy when I first booted up that Devil May Cry 3 demo and after 30 seconds play I was jumping about screaming HE'S BACK!!111

I'm so surprised that when they announced and released the early vids of DMC3 that anyone cared I got burned by PAL DMC, i thought it was great but didn't get 2 because i thought i was up for the same border treatment ,then i heard it sucked anyway.

I've become a Dante addict...playing both DMC1 (US ) and DMC3....it would have been good if the 2nd game was good to

From watching videos, I can see where you're coming from, the levels are very Large and boring looking...I read that there is only 3 hours worth of Dante play and 2 hours of Lucille and it's not worth replaying.

Anyway gonna bust out some more purple pimp Dante moves on no.3
