Vid4 is just the tactics that I use Cerberus on Normal difficulty. A lot of people say that this boss is hard but if you abuse Agni and Rudras Aerial cross canceleled into aerial raves, he's a walkover!

Vid3 just shows how much damage you can take off Beowulf with a level 3 Just release to his right eye.

I just found a cool way to kill Cerberus quickly on Hard mode. Equip Agni + Rudra, Ebony + Ivory, Rebellion and use Doppelganger. Basically, abuse Aerial Cross to floor him, activate After Image and then use Combo1. Now watch Cerberus' health drain!

I've uploaded a vid temporarily on the yousendit.com servers. Here's the link.

        I need Broadband now!

I love this game so very much, but the best I can do is clearing Normal mode with 7 S's, 11 A's and 2 B's, with Hard mode proving difficult with me (I get B's and C's, which is abusing Dante). I find Trickster and Swordmaster the best as I can go mad with them and not worry too much about my defense, which I should really...

Does anyone think that the first 7 missions (mission 7 was the first fight with Vergil) are the best, which is like the exact same way as I enjoyed the castle/mansion level in DMC (up to when the bridge leading outside the castle mission starts).

The first three missions; I must have spent nearly 5 hours doing just them.

I like all of them myself especially mission 18 with all the boss fights (ex. Vergil).

Mission 18 is a favourite as well, not just for the boss fights, but for the Chess Board as well.

My favourite purely from a scenario perspective is Mission 19, where...

Vergil joins the battle half-way through.

Yes Bleeders... YES!! That is a sensational bit of action in the game and the cut scene at the end of that fight had my hair standing up on end. It makes the battle that follows it so much more emotional, cause you see they DO have a strong relationship!!

I love all of them, the thing is none of the stages stand out as The Best cos every stage has different stuff in it and it's all about selecting what you're in the mood for.

My recent routine has been to train up on commands and moves on Mission 2, play Mission 5 (for Agni & Rudra battle), Mission 9 (for Nevan battle), Mission 11 (for Beowulf battle) and Mission 16 for all out war on the Spiders and then trek back through to Dante's Office - in mission 16 if you trek back to the office you fight loads of the teleporting white reapers and 2 Vanguards! It's CARNAGE! and you can repeat it by just walking out then back in!

Every single mission is pure class - I find whichever one I'm exploring the tactics on is my favourite, then I find something else on another stage and the cycle continues.

Beowulf's fight is the stuff of legend - my grandkids are gonna be hearing about how that big girl gets pwn3d. Agni & Rudra battle is too much fun to be legal, just repeatedly continuing to find out all the ins and outs of these battles has been absolutely wicked - st00pid Horsey's getting it next! - Nice one Sum.

Beowulf, is that the big one-eyed dog geezer in the torture chamber? I have just beaten him at the weekend (only took me 2 bloody hours).. and now I'm at the horse it's sapping my will to live.

Beowulf's a big bitch - there's nothing that brer can throw that Dante cant catch and wrap round his head and his attacks are signposted 2 days in advance!

I feel like I'm bullying that brer now - he's stamping his feet and throwing his whole world at Dante who just stands there right in his face parrying the lot and laughing at him , it's unfair to put him up against Dante cos Dante's power in DMC3 is ridiculous. It's got to the point where I can turn my back on him and just walk away with him throwing everything he's got at me and I'll parry the whole lot blind - it's nothing, He. Is. Nothing.

Check out this Dante Must Die fight - the routine is exactly as you would do on Hard mode, Normal is ridiculous - he'll go down after the "I Will Kill You!" counter.

Well suffice to say, that's not how I feel. Yeah sure I saw his attacks coming but just couldn't get clear in time (like when he unfolds his wings or does that big punch with the shaft of light).. If I was up close hitting him then I was getting hit by it. Then that one with the feathers just sealed the deal. I assume you can only parry in Royal Guard style?

                          Comment

You can only parry in Royal Guard but Dante has ultimate defense in Swordmaster aswell, if you equip Cerberus - the move "Freeze!" (lock-on back + O button) will guard against just about anything.

Remember that he signposts his moves with phrases so you have more than enough time to get out of the way (like when he says "Crush!" you have a good 2 seconds to get out of the way, "I will Kill You" when he opens his wings gives you about 6 seconds from the initial warning of him stumbling) and also Dante's straight up short-jump = invincible!

Seriously - the most fun I've ever had on this game is learning how to fight Beowulf, parrying is similar to Streetfighter 3 timing - and Dante's ultimate counter is done with lock-on + forward + attack at a parry point, he'll rip straight through whatever you do it on taking massive damage.

                            Individual parry timings -
                            3 Punches
(Release with lv3 charge on the 3rd punch to rip masses of energy off him)
                            Blinded
(If you hit him in the eye he'll stun and lash out - hitting him in the eye will drain more damage than standard hits)
                            Stomping
(he does 1 to 4 stomps, timing is easy)
                            Supermove
(He'll eventually stumble as you attack him and say "I will kill you!" - get round behind him and Release on the chime sound effect after the word "you" - this removes around 50% health off him if it's a lv3 - in the vid it shows it done from the front, this is cos I'm a moron and didnt realise you could increase the damage by attacking from behind back then)
                            Crush!
(I roll to get the timing right, but you can just stand there or use the straight up jump + parry. The explosion has a structure to it - look at it carefully)

Hmm, maybe I need a better sound system but I don't remember hearing him utter a single word of english after the intro, lol... (and I fought him for two hours!)

Can't watch vids at work, is the supermove the one where he shoots feathers at you? I could only survive that by having enough health to take it, couldn't find any way of rolling or jumping out of the path of it.
