Naw - the feather move is the phrase "Sparda!!1!" -

In swordmaster buss "Freeze!" with Cerberus and absorb it.
For Royal Guard use Ultimate (lock-on + back + O button) - Dante will stand there with a hand out and stop it all like Neo.
Everything else just run parallel to him and they all miss.

He barely does this move tho - he'll only do it if you run really far away from him when his health is critical and there's no need for you to move from in front of his feet.

Every attack in the game has audio and visual cues - for example when do you parry Nevan's floor electricity? When her arms become an 'X' shape in front of her. Same with every single boss in the game, they tell you exactly what they are going to do, when they will do it and when your command should occur - you gotta look for them!

I feel like I'm bullying that brer now - he's stamping his feet and throwing his whole world at Dante who just stands there right in his face parrying the lot and laughing at him , it's unfair to put him up against Dante cos Dante's power in DMC3 is ridiculous. It's got to the point where I can turn my back on him and just walk away with him throwing everything he's got at me and I'll parry the whole lot blind - it's nothing, He. Is. Nothing.

Check out this Dante Must Die fight - the routine is exactly as you would do on Hard mode, Normal is ridiculous - he'll go down after the "I Will Kill You!" counter.

      OMFG!!

I Love this game SO MUCH!

But that video is just INSANE!

I'm a bit of a noob at DMC3, not finished hard yet after 35 hours
i'm so jealous of Saurs skills.....i guess practise makes perfect.

I'm gonna be on Beowulf all night now.

That brer Kazak is my hero - just as I thought I was getting heavy at the game he dropped them vids and after watching them I really badly wanted to reach the same standard (I went straight to Mission 9 and didnt leave Beowulf alone till I got it), I'm getting there learning each boss in turn - it's just what he does to that Gigapede which is still beyond me!

Did this edited vid to show the parry timings and flow of the fight against Beowulf clearly (I hope!)

Dont neglect Nevan either - this fight r0><><><0r3d!!11 XD

You can pwn Gigapede in seconds as shown my my bredrin Con Lonis - but to batter him like Kazak does is another matter entirely!

That Con Lonis proper specialises in bringing death - QUICKLY!

Wow, I've just watched Kazak doing Beowulf on DMD mode - fantastic to see those kind of skills on display; great stuff.

Finally a vid of something I've done, bussin devil trigger full release on the Gigapede's head is just too sweet XD In fact going devil trigger on the bosses now I'm playing through on Hard just seems unfair. Blouse & Skirt got schooled with it last night. Although, I'm trying to master Royalguard and they kept shattering my blocks??? And couldn't get the camera spinning round, is there a certain spot in that room where it will rotate like in your vid Saur?

Anyways, really enjoying Hard - finding extra enemies to whack is a nice surprise and they seem to be bringing it more >_< This game is gonna last me all year o_O

Don't use the lock on function and you'll be able to rotate the camera just like in Saur's vid.
With Royal Guard it seems like you're parrying too early. The easiest moves to parry are their jump attacks. Just jump straight up and tap block to parry.

Nice one Venom, although I wasn't locked on, still couldn't buss the camera a full 360 and it seemed to rotate much faster in teh vid - strange...

Need to learn the timing on the parry. Too early and it blocks but Dante takes some damage or it just shatters. Spot on and there is a flash, I guess you charge up the release from that type of Parry? Got the timing down on the standard Mission One enemies, still only on Level 2 Royalguard - almost there though

Its weird going from an all out balls to the wall attacking play style to this patient, calm and considered blocking style. Getting all in enemies faces waiting for them to strikes is simply awesome and if I mess up the parry then its just a switch back to the more uncontrollably violent Dante that I'm used too for some payback!!!!

                  Good going bruv -

                  There are 3 types of guard;
Standard guard where you hold block - this will only *reduce* damage and will shatter against moves which are too powerful.
Silver guard - this is a tap button parry on correct timing, no damage to Dante at all, but only gives a small charge (1/4 to 1/2 orb)
Gold guard - flawless, perfect parry, no damage to Dante and gives 1 orb charge.

You want to rotate the camera against Blouse & Skirt? - note where I'm standing, it's a sweet spot (the camera has enough room to circle without hitting the walls)

Another excellent trick to take note of is that Dante is invincible to most attacks if you just jump straight up (like all 3 of Beowulfs punches will miss if you simply jump up at each one!) - so use this jump for safety and parry inside it (this is a no risk parry - try it against bomb enemies and explosions!)

Sup blud, you not in Japan yet?

What's the difference between the implementation of a Silver and Gold guard? Is it just about the timing?

Also where are the orbs displayed?

Set up in my bedroom now, 50htz isnt too bad and looks/sounds alright on my little TV. Social Dante is long gone though. I'm entering the lights out, headphones on antisocial period where my housemate only sees me when I emerge for tea and fags.

Will give the no risk jump parry a go tonight, oh and how are you parrying the Gigapede's purple balls again? That I got to do

                    Comment

A good one for the gigapede, but is kinda risky, is to batter that energy balls back at him. Takes good timing of the melee attack and is risky as a second one could hit you but looks great when you get a few rattled back at it

Thats what I'm talking about, what style and weapon you using to return those Purple Balls?

                        Comment

I think all weapons will do it if timed correctly. Rebellion does it sweet but Cerberus makes it look far too good when you bussin those balls back in quick succession... very sweet!!

Wish I could could some of my own **** up here... the standard of sk1illz Dante is kickin on this thread is frightening. DMC3 certainly has become Hardcore in the best possible way

                          Comment

The difference between silver and gold is like the difference between Great and Perfect on a game like DDR, it's timing - silver is very good but not perfect, gold is spot on. The flash effect when Dante parries is either a fizz (standard), silver spark or gold spark depending on how well you're parrying.

The orbs which signify how far you've charged are on the top left corner of the screen - you have 3 green orbs on the left of Dante's energy bar. They each are dull when empty, pulse when half full and glow green when full. If you charge to lv3 (all 3 orbs glowing) when you do Release the power is off the chart - you can stand there and throw Release and do damage BUT a Release with the same timing as a parry is how you rip through things taking insane damage.

The best way to parry back the Gigapede's energy balls is to use Agni & Rudra - it's opening slash can be cancelled at any frame with guard button. The way you do it is to G-cancel the first slash over and over in a perfect rhythm in time with the energy balls - you have to make sure that you cancel the first slash each time, if you accidently activate the 2nd you cant G-cancel it and you'll get pwned. Cerberus is the only other weapon who's opening slash will G-cancel but it's not as effective as A&R. Rebellion's first slash is very high risk - it doesnt G-cancel at all, infact to G-cancel the first slash it's actually faster to carry on to cancel the 2nd slash as the first one is such a commitment.

1-2 G-cancel, 1-2 G-cancel, 1-2 G-cancel, - with Rebellion is the fastest you can get out of it, wicked for fighting enemies but Gigapede wont have any of it.

Leaving for Japan next week ennit

I would be REALLY impressed if you could pull of the Dante moves with the Banana pad
