I'll probably try and struggle with this again tonight, I've flung a few friend requests out. It's brilliant when it works, it's just so much hassle at the moment.

Had some good games last night though, a real nice change of pace from Halo. Fast and frantic. The Facility map we played on was nigh on perfect, brilliant

      The Good :

Great graphics (lovely touches like water spray on the screen etc), movement is nice and fluid. I'm really enjoying single player mode at the moment, so much more so than in the 2nd game.

      The Bad :

Online is a mixed bag. The few good games I've had have been great fun, however others have been completely spoiled by bad lag.

Some characters online just annoy me - little tiny monkeys that you can hardly see running about the place isnt exactly fair.

However, does anyone want a game online tonight? I've had my fill of screaming, abusive Americans today so far and would welcome the chance to play with some nice people!

I downloaded the Complex map. It's pretty **** tbh.

1-player is ok. I've been playing on the highest difficulty from the start and I've only died once (on the tank bit). Not much of a challenge, although I'm only about 15% through (in one afternoon).

Played this just now online, and offline, and to be honest, I'm unimpressed. Offline, the weapons dont seem to have the "oomph" that other FPS's have, taking a million bullets to kill a simple enemy, and online the lag killed it. Major warping going on making it impossible to hit anyone. That is, if you can join any of your friends games.

Think mine will be going back to Game pretty soon.

I enjoyed it, the single player was so-so but the multiplayer was quite fun, especially the team games such as getting to the extraction zone and so on, just think i and you mr ben need to play in a custom game room where we cna chat to each other and enjoy it more, rather than a random room on the servers.

Wish EA would sort out their xbox live stuff, friends list on the Y button please, not hidden deep within a menu!

Im enjoying the story mode, at the moment im at this "perfect dark" esque level where im following this female ninja. The inside looks like the Datadyne building too. However, im stuck at this part where i am supposed to switch off "suprresion fire" or summat after calling a cleaning robot to open the door, but i cant. There is also a yellow force field blocking the stairs...anyone know what to do? thanks

Also, it has the X Ray gun, sort of like from Perfect Dark. You can see heat coming from enemies through walls. Good stuff, straight outta PD.

What i am not enjoying is the multiplayer. Getting one or 2 good games going before being kicked or ending up the only player in the room for the 50th time is not fun.

However, it seemed to be more stable when i restricted the game to 8 players, but that prolly is neither here nor there. We still got kicked.

http://ntsc-uk.domino.org/showpost.p...0&postcount=49 try and register here folks and have a rant. thanks.

Back to Street Fighter me thinks...

Yeah, a couple of good games then lost host. I've used your template to make a complaint over at EA, another potentially excellent online game spoiled

I've gone back to Challenge mode, having trouble with the first plate smash challenge - I break all plates and windows but always have 20 remaining items to get. I can't for the life of me see what to get, anyone done it? It's probably something really obvious.
The Story mode is far better than I was expecting, the train level reminded me of another game - couldn't think what

I think I've had my lot with this game despite only getting it Saturday. Only played a few hours but I've a splitting headache from it all which isn't doing me any favours at all

Single player isn't bad. The opening sequence was crap to be honest but improves gradually - granted I only got as far as 1969 (The Russian Connection) but couldn't get to Harry after climbing up the ladder to the water tower afterwards. Oh well.

Live! It's good and bad. Once multiplayer games start it can be fun although seeing ghosts of people long killed running into walls, standing around pointing and such is rubbish. Being respawned to the spot near where you were killed or next to an enemy is flawed and spawn killing has never been so easy. The menu's are a farce and even the challenges I've had a go at I get some error in it being unable to load up the replay. What's the point of having a system that's broken? *Sigh* it's Burnout 3 all over again. Also loading Friend's maps or even accessing that menu is a no go as it locks up the system having you to scream and have to reset the Xbox.

I also suffer motion sickness from this game - why I haven't a clue as Halo 2 doesn't have this effect on me.

Okay rant over. I'm going back to Brothers In Arms which I'm enjoying at the moment

I noticed that you move far faster than in Halo 2, which is probably why. Its as if you run at twice the speed you should be able to as well. Well silly.

As the multiplayer is borked to ****, ive decided to go back to the story mode, finally managed to figure out what was keeping me from progressing earlier on in "2052 Breaking and Entering" and managed to complete the level.

Some real cool moments are in this time zone, and so far its my best single player level in the game. What i love through out the game is the cut scenes and referances to other games such as Doom 3, Half Life 2, Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, Halo and a whole host of film and other non FPS games. The cutscenes on 2052 are quite funny. the story is getting pretty good tbh, and is not the usual time travelling shanangans i first made it out to be (well...it is a little ).

Dr Crows voice work is well good, and seeing how the story is connects it self with past events is done well. 2052 also has the best use of past\present\future Cortez moments. wait and see. Also in this level as i have discussed before is the Mag Gun. Which can detect heat through walls (but it seems it doesnt shoot through walls...i think it does in multiplayer though) and also the Time Grenade. Throw the grenade and step through the distortion, and everything slows down while you move at full speed, pretty nice effect.

Just got to "2243 Machine Wars" and looks like to be a good parody of Terminater ;D Just had a quick blast through the level and it looks great. Well...its not what i bought the game for, but i suppose it will have to do for now.

                      Has anyone tried to beat my Cat Racing time btw? I got a platinum medal for 1 min 8 secs, and i think its the 20th highest time so far. Or, someone post their achievments in challenge mode and others can try and top it...at least uploading scores isnt ****ed tbh. >_<;;;;

@Bleeders: Dude!? How long have you been playing the challenge mode? Is that why you have been signed on since like 5pm? Or have you gone out\sleep and forgot to turn your xbox off? Make sure it doesnt blow up. >_<

Yeh Ive just got past that level... nice halo2 reference where you get to take control of the tank. Is it me or are the futuristic tanks modelled on those old 80s kids toy tanks, I forget the name of them but trust me when you see it you'll know what I am talking about...

Im nearly done with story mode and I have loved it all the way through. The humour and not-so subtle references to other games is excellent. The Halo2, Halflife2, Terminator and Resi Evil stuff has been ace... and I actually laughed my ass off at the end of the haunted house level where they have to go down the ladder... "you go first".. "ok"...

Online, well minor niggles more than anything. The mapmaker issue which has really annoyed me is that some user made content simply doesnt load online meaning you have a dud map on your hands and you have to reset the console. I've downloaded all the 007 ones and they worked fine but the one map I made (a remake of a quake map I made some 10 years ago) I uploaded and it wont load. Works fine locally and I can play deathmatch no problem... online it doesnt budge. Git!

I think online there are characters with unfair advantages, the monkeys are bastard annoying... but I find it depends how you setup the game that dictates how much fun you can glean from it.

Turn off the radar. Turn off the character abilities. Pick a weapons that really suit the level and what game type you want to play... .all that adds up to gaming bliss. The wrong setup just equals a boring session.

For a good gametype play something like 007 Facility and play with all harpoon guns with either one shot kill switched on or not. Plays like a decent version of Unreal insta-gib.

Has it been showing that I'm still signed in?

I logged on and uploaded a created map earlier, but did sign out and switch the brick off at about 7-ish. Very strange if it was still showing me as signed into LIVE.

Finished the Story Mode earlier in the afternoon though. Not bad, not bad at all.

so then, TS2 with fixed controls and ridiculously bad online play.

fixing the aiming has only served to emphasise how broken the rest of the game is.

oh dear. I urge everyone to avoid this like the turd it is. it's not even worth buying it from GAME to try out, as I did - it's really not worth the effort.

It's like people have made up their minds about this long before they played it.

The online is broken, but when you do manage to get a decent game going it's utterly fantastic. One of the most fun Live games I've ever played, without a doubt. The single player is also very good- much better than a lot of FPS out there. But still, it's Timesplitters so it must be ****, eh?

That train level is awesome, I have to say. It's a great feeling climbing over the top of the train when all of the scenery is speeding past you
