Got this for daughters Xmas and so far we've had trouble naming the dog. It responds to it and asks her to keep saying it then praising him, but after doing that a few times it comes up saying he forgot his name and to try again. Bloody tried it 3 times so far, think she's sick to death of shouting "Max".

Any ideas?

Also, is it worth me keeping a copy to play or is it more for the kiddies?

I ditched this game for animal crossing wild world, they r both similar games but acww is 100 times better

Not that I think AC isn't as good as Nintendogs, but this is coming from someone who doesnt like Resident evil 4

I played my cousins DS today and this was the game she got with it for Christmas, it was great fun!

You have to say the name in pretty much a similar tone. If shes a bit wild with it and saying it in different ways then its not gonna work. Or maybe she's just too far from the mic?

Is there any way to place you dog in stasis? As in, if you cant play for a week or more, so it dosent run away?

It dosent look like it, and i wasnt sure what happens if you put the dog you want alive in the hotel, and keep another to die, what happens to the hotel dog(s)? Is the game data saved on the card or internally? Could you set the date back, so effectively no time has passed, then load the game (feed and water) then push the date to normal?

I can understand keeping it like a tamagochi, w.r.t. forcing you to care regularly, but no "holiday mode" is a bit rough.

I use my action replay to back my ds saves to the pc so if i dont play in a while i can just upload by old save to my cart & it's as if nothing has happened.

How do the different versions of this work?

Is it that you get the six dogs, specific to whichever version you buy, available at the start, but all the dogs are unlockable in each version, i.e. all the same dogs are eventually available in each version?
