Gah I'm gonna have to buy this now as well, there's too many DS games that need bought these days, just bought Kirby and ordered Jump Allstars recently as well.

Is the music in MIDI format like Band Bros?, I loved BB but the sound qulaity was dissapointing after being spoiled by other music games on other consoles.

Yes it is, it's in Band Bros as well (The Larc En Ciel album it's off is pretty good).

Cheers for that. I might have to pick it up sometime in the future then as well as Band Brothers.

OH MY GOD THIS GAME ROCKS (ahem) (^_^)

First off its not like band bros the songs are sung with lyrics. Hehe i cant stop laughing its just silly mental. While you play on the bottom screen you are constantly distracted by the crazy goings on in the top screen.

Sorry band bros but you have been beaten, ouendan is my most fave game for the ds now.

Sorry people its not much of a first impression but i had a go on the first level & just couldnt resist telling you all how god damn good it is. You owe it to yourself to buy a copy NOW.

I will post more as i go through it. Japanese text wise it seems pretty straight forward for those non readers, you shouldnt have any problems.

It's simpler than Band Bros though, yeah? BB is more of a music writing / playing tool, whereas this is more of a Wario Ware / Feel the Magic thingy. Have I got that right?

Yeah its easier than band bros but dont think your just going to sail through all the songs theres some mega hard songs in there.

Heres a vid to give you an idea how it all works

Looks like theres 2 difficulty levels and even on easy mode, some of the songs are quite hard.

On normal they are pure evil (^_^) but lots of fun.

Played one level that gave me a lump in my throat its the level where the woman has lost her boyfriend in a motorcycle accident & he is trying to get back to her from heaven. It has my fave song by Hitomi Yaida god its so sad.

In the last issue of Famitsu Cube, Ouendan was reviewed and received a score of 38 out of 40 (10/9/10/9).

I've already ordered this from yesasia, but they haven't shipped yet. With every snippet of info I get about this, the more I seem to want it.

Continue with the impressions guys. How much Japanese do you need for the game, besides the stories? Is it similar to band brothers in this sense?

The menus are very easy to navigate even if you are japanese impaired (^_^). a lot less text than band bros.
