In Halo I typically form a party with a friend or three and then play Matchmaking. Some people you are matched with are young, others aren't.
In Far Cry or GR2, I tend to pick a server and then play with those people for a while. Typically I'd hunt around until I found a decent bunch of like minded players.
The Halo way of doing things means that in and average session you will play against far more people (and therefore more youngsters and idiots) than you would in Far Cry. I'm not sure the proportion of youngsters or idiots is any different though.
