I was playing this for a couple of hours this morning starting at the beginning of either the third or the fourth level. I was making good progress until I got to the bit where you have to provide cover with the sniper rifle, in which I failed...I figured no problem as I will just start at the last checkpoint, but no...it ****ing throws me back to the beginning of the level! A good hours worth of progress down the drain.

The PC version pretty much places you on a huge island with some objectives and it's up to you how you get there and how you tackle it. One of the nicest things about it is that you can sometimes see your objective miles away on the horizon, and you will get to travel all that distance through the jungle. And the jungle is filled with squads of incredibly intelligent enemies.
The Xbox version is more like a narrow green corridor with small groups of simpletons wandering around waiting to be killed. The ferral abilities are unique to this version, on the PC you're just a regular human all the way through.

Might be the wrong place to ask, apologies if so but...
How in the hell do i beat Kreiger (i think its kreiger im fighting)? The bit where he's stood on the ledge shooting at you with the gun he ripped from the helicopter, I must be near to the end of the game now i think, i've been sat here for the best part of an hour trying to kill him, by strafing round in circles then shooting him when i come round to face him, he's taken the best part of a hundred rockets + grenades, and god only knows how many bullets (and im using infinite ammo, i just kept running out before), I don't usually give up on games but if i dont beat it either today or tomorrow its going back to the shop.

Personally I think this game is overrated. Once you gain the feral abilities the balance of the game completely breaks, although I must admit they are pretty cool to do.
Also, did the exploding mutants remind anyone else of the similarly exploding mutamts in Serious Sam? Come to think of it, that's a good example of how the game is broken. When you reach the bits with the exploding mutants, instead of adding tension to the game where you have to tread carefully to avoid unwanted attention, you simply have to turn on your feral ability to run like ben johnson and skip the whole section!
BROKEN.

This is how I did the Krieger fight:
First of all grab the armour that is behind you, then feral run to the other side of the helicopter, where you can grab the other gun off it. In doing this, K will shoot you a bit, so you'll probably need the armour under him as well as the health. When you stand right under him, he can't shoot you, so just stay there and shoot all the respawning zombie things from there. If you start to get too low on health, feral run to one of the health packs and then zip back to your spot under K.
Once, all the zombies have been killed, K will jump down and you just have to keep shooting him. If he gets too near to you, melee him. I just circled aroudn him shooting, and then meleed when I could. He died quite quickly.

I disagree. I think FCI is a hell of a lot of fun, not just Live (it's really great to see people fully embracing the map editor mode), but SP mode too.
Feral abilities run out. It's not as though you can turn them on permanently, and attempting to run through a level using your feral run only ends in death because the abilities inevitably runs out before you can clear it, due to obstacles such as basic environment and, of course, your enemies. I've tried to complete a level many a time using this tactic, and it's never worked for me. Perhaps you've had better luck.
And as for the "Men going BOOM!" level, it scared the daylights out of me when I first played it! Although, I found the Doctor Who opening scaryAnd I've never played Serious Sam.

and found that you certainly skip major scripted events such as ambushes quite easily by legging it past.
Seeing as the events are scripted and the enemy AI quite dumb they soon forget you were zipping past their noses a second a go and give up the chase (although I can still see the enemies on my radar and use my NI - Natural Intelligenceand decide not to go back and get slaughtered).
I enjoyed the game's first few levels where it was more a case of you're alone and have to use some sneaky tactics to fight multiple enemies, but the feral abilities really only worked for me when there were multiple enemies (i.e. loads - happened only 2 or 3 times in the game) coming from all directions. Then there seemed to be a balance and the feral abilities made perfect sense. Maybe this is down to the Xbox's inability to cope with a high number of enemies due to lack of power? Who knows.Last edited by Hombre; 10-10-2005, 14:35.
