Originally posted by BleedersI'm thinking a Predator theme here; foggy environment, lots of trees and high-grass for cover and claymore/tree whip opportunities, sniper tower and bases in each of the four corners. Ideally, I'd like to make the level multi-tier rather than being on one level, I dunno if that's even possible though. Oh, it goes without saying, standard issue 'Dutch' weaponary from the outset too!
I call it... "I Ain't Got Time To Bleed!"
Lovin this game, I however spend too much of the time assessing the merits of my newly perchased Sony TV which i think may suck
I played hours of this thinking it had proper 16:9 support but when getting the shotgun, it's seems that i am mistaken. ( the retical is oval)
Altogether an awesome game, even though the auto aim is TOO much.Last edited by Kevvy Metal; 03-10-2005, 15:29.

Ah, that's too bad.
Just to clarify this issue (I noticed there was a little confusion at the start of the thread), there are two different control methods available:
Classic - Run/Strafe on Left Stick, Look/Turn on Right Stick
Goofy - Turn/Run on Left Stick, Look/Strafe on Right Stick
The Look function can be inverted, and there's no configs available for buttons.
Personally I was concerned when I had overheard that there was only the default option available (a semi-truth, as it was the only config on the Demo), but this might sway the people who crave for Goldeneye/TS controls like myself. Sounds like it doesn't cater for others, though, which is a bit crap considering control is a big part of any FPS.

I don't like it much
I'm not far in, granted (just got the jeep), but it doesn't feel particuarly solid to me. Graphicly it is good, but the action feels disjointed and imprecise. I don't feel like I have the control of the envrionment that I should do, largely because the controls and actions do not respond fast enough. I tried jumping from behind a wall onto a gun-turret for instance, but it took so long to let me fire that I was virtually dead.
The best moment so far has been the base just before the jeep, but it also felt quite flawed. I tried this sections several times (probably around ten), trying to be tactical and take it slowly, but I only managed to actually progress when I just ran straight for the jeep. It was then I realised the whole thing was scripted and the enemies just keep on coming.
Being stealthy is far too difficult also, the section just before the jeep on the helipad was a nightmare because everyone saw me when in reality they really shouldn't have done. I then had to contend with loads of enemies as Jack was progressing the story with the guy on the radio, meaning I missed the entire conversation.
More promising is the large scope at tackling each situation, something I shall be trying when I finish this blasted jeep section. Also, the first person cutscenes work extremely well, very impressed there.
Will keep at it, but I'm fairly disappointed so far.
Live was OK, would have liked to try Preditor mode but CTF worked quite well. I don't feel connected to the action again though, which is a shame.
Shame there is no coop either...

Well I played the demo first and then bought the game after hearing all the positive comments. Sadly the two things that really bothered me about the demo seem unchanged. Firstly auto-aiming is terrible. I've taken wild shots at soldiers and dropped them without the rectical being anywhere near them. It feel like I have absolutely no control.
Secondly the AI is some of the dumbest I've seen. Yes they do flank you in interesting ways when the alert is up, but I have run right passed soldiers, bumped shoulders with them and then turned around to find them facing in the opposite direction. I wait for them to turn, but nothing.
Also you can often drop a soldier right next to another one and have absolutely no response or change in behaviour.
Haven't jumped on Live yet, but for me, this has to be the biggest case of 'Emperors new clothes' this year.

Best LIVE game I've played this year. Smooth, polished, great controls and most importantly great fun. The only game to keep us all up till one for a few nights for over a year. Predator mode is just a whole lot of fun. With one bound you are atop a building; with one punch you've knocked someone through a window and forty foor into the air. FEEL MY POWER! That, coupled with the absolutely superb and very powerful mapmaker, which can create maps almost as good as the ones on the disk, make this one hell of a game. In fact I've hardly touched the singleplayer mode yet because the LIVE aspect is so goodBig (literal) sore thumb up here.
