Gah, number 11 was great but also very very tedious, if you let him get you once, your fooked Took me 40 minuites to destroy him, 30 of which I'm pretty sure where spent getting dragged around the floor.

Has anybody else had the game crash on them? It's just locked up in what I imagine is the final cutscene, which is more than a little annoying. I'm not sure I can face doing that final colossus again.

        Oh. Wow.

        Simply wow.

Wow, wow and wow some more.

My copy arrived today and due to a late finish in work I've only managed two hours of this so far (just to the end of the second Colossi) and haven't read anyone spoilers in this thread.

Sure, as others have said, you can almost hear the old architecture of the PS2 groaning under the weight of everything on screen, but any flakey parts are totally overshadowed by the amazing things on display and the overpowering sense of scale (and that's on everything from the scenery to the Collosi themselves).

Holding on to the second Colossus like a determined flea on a dog was an experience in itself - the way it's

bones on its back twisted and interlocked as it tried to shake me loose was amazing eye candy.

When the first Collosus clocked me and headed my way it was a real `OMG!` moment.

Only this far in and the game is already providing me with a range of emotions. The feeling of accomplishment from scaling the first Colossus got me drunk on a feeling of power.

I sunk the sword into its head

without really thinking about what I was doing, relieved to have actually made it to the top of something so immense and fearing that there was only one way down.

It was only when I felled the thing that I stopped to think about what had just happened. The exhilaration was replaced with... well, to be honest, a fair bit of guilt.

What had that poor thing done to me (aside from stomp on me a few times but that was my fault for getting too close)? And there I was, sword in hand having dispatched it, with no real reason for doing so other than some disembodied voice had made me a promise; with no idea of if it's to be trusted. Was it right that I felt closer to the dead Colossus than to the cold girl laying on the stone slab?

To be honest, I have no idea which direction this game is going to take me. But quite frankly I cannot wait to find out.

          Nicely said Spatial!

I just finished colossus 9 and the game just gets better and better! I'm loving it right now but might take a break and finish the other 7 tomorrow. Or shall I stay up all night and finish the game from 1-16 in one sitting!?

            Twice on Colossus 12.

One thing I forgot to say. The ending is incredible, it is possibly the best ending to a video game that I have ever seen ever? or at least as recent memory serves. (7hours, if you care)

Been playing pretty much non stop since 6pm...

              Must. Stop. Playing...

What a game! Colour me gobsmacked. They're getting a bit harder to figure out now; number 8 was a bitch (in a good way!).

              Wow.

Just done number 10, best one yet!!!

Twas the big sand snake one, great idea I think. Really liked how you had to use the horse to get speed so it chases you then get your bow and turn round while on the horse and fire an arrow in its eye!!

Took me a while to work it out too! Afew of them have really had me stumped for a while, and a clue didn't come up for number 10 just there when most of the other ones have had clues appearing...

                Just amazing.

5 hours in, 10 colossi down. Great.

Was tempted to stay up and finish it in one sitting in one night which would have been a first for me, but alas, I am waaay too tired and need sleep. Leave the best part of the game til tomorrow!

                Can't wait!!!

So far, this game just exeeds expectations!

Got this yesterday think around 1hrs 15min play and i am up to the fifth colossus.Must admit though

the fourth one i found pretty disapointing compared to the previous 3

The temptation is there to play through as much of it in one sitting. But i am going to resist and just have the odd go on it to make it last longer

Finished it saturday night. 10 hours or so.

Really enjoyed the game overall and certain aspects of it i love, but there wasnt enough to do while not fighting the collosus. They were slighty predictable (mind you , had trouble on a couple of them)The horse back sections, while was great to ride around looking at the scenary, i cant help but think there is alot of the land that goes completely unseen. Its all well and good saying you should go have an explore and go off the path of the game, but really whats the point ? you wont find anything.

also the other thing i didnt like about the searching, on the first colossus you had to do a bit of platforming to get to him which i thought was great, but after him there isnt anything else like it ( besides #16 ) which was a shame.

over all it was a great play through, one of the best games this year, just cant help think certain aspects were wasted.

Finished this last night. About 7 hours play time for me, but what a great 7 hours it was . The final colossus is pretty great, when you first see him it's simply another jaw dropping moment but I tell you, my right index finger is getting RSI from holding the R1 button! The ending was pretty great - saddening I think but then I was happy

to see Agro safe and sound. I'm curious though - the sections in the ending where you have control as Dormin, did anyone actually manage to kill any of those guys in the temple or is it just there for fun? I kept trying to squash em with my fist but it wasnt working out. Same with running away from the vortex thingy - I'm guessing that not possible or there'd be alternate endings.. which would be awesome too.

It's great to hear there's so much to replay the game for too - I'll have to get started on some of those unlockables and perhaps do a bit more exploring this time round.

After doing the same platforming bit before the first colossus, I assumed it was short and easy as an introduction and that platforming to reach the other colossi would be alot harder and take more time, I didn't think for a second it would become non existant

It does seem that they have wasted an opportunity by not including more explorable (interactive) areas into the vast world that they have created.

Its great to have huge areas/worlds to explore.Just not if there is nothing to actually find.

I hope there is stuff to find later on

                          Comment

Well there's not really stuff to find as such, but you can go lizard-tail and fruit hunting.. and there are some more platforming type elements later.. o yes there are. Admittedly they may be during a battle or two but nonetheless - pretty cool.

There is stuff to find. I came across a big castle while riding around last night and spent 20-30 minutes exploring it.

I love the feeling of desolation, of a once great civilisation now completely deserted and ruined. The atmopshere is just amazing.

I took down the 13th and 14th Colossi last night. The 14th one was pretty ferocious, certainly not a gentle giant like some of the earlier ones!

Its funny how much variation there is in the amount of time this is taking people. I am 5 hours in and have only taken down 6 colossi, yet some people are finishing it in not much more time. I don't feel like I have been dawdling, but I guess that :

                                a) I must suck at colossi bashing and it takes me longer than most (oo-er).

                                b) I spend longer just riding about and looking at the scenery - for example, I feel compelled to climb to the top of every save alter just to have a look at the view.
