I'd guess at it meaning a slight delay between inputs? Either that or two inputs at the same time, like P.K or something, but that doesn't seem as likely.

I think its a pause, but i'm not sure how long to pause for, have to try i tomorrow once I get in from work

MikeF - P.K is like you said, punching, pausing for 2 seconds then pressing kick.

Yeah it's a pause - you can easily see the effect on some characters - It allows you to make an opponent mistime their block or counter - Kasumi has a few where she'll kick once or twice and the third she'll have the leg cocked (?) ready to go but won't fire it off till you hit the button again.

Love those charging moves - they're so good for screwing an opponents though patterns sometimes.

I'm hoping to get on tonight for some more of this - I can't believe how good it is particularly given that whilst I admired the previous iterations technically etc I never really dug them THAT much as fighters.

As I said to Keith yesterday - Whilst I really respect games like VF (hands down best fighter EVA) I don't have the time to learn them backwards and wring the most I can from them - I feel with this that I could and I like the feeling

I'll never get there - but I like the feeling.

Hurray, just finished the story mode with all characters. Final ending is pretty sweet

Have been trying to do Time Attack, but can't for the life of me get passed stage 5 (or 6). AI suddenly decides it wants to start reading the game at an impossible speed, countering my every move as soon as I hit the button and even somehow recovering instantly from being knocked down and countering again. Bah I say.

The ****en AI can do whatever it wants when it wants... if you constantly attack first it can just pick you off and if it wanted reverse everything you throw at it, bastard!!

I like to wait and see what the AI has then counter it as diving right in usually gets you wasted, the bastard could get perfects all the time if it wanted though, hehe, it knows everything we are going to do before it happens for **** sake

20 survival wins is the limit for me I think, I dont think my nerves could have taken anymore. I got it the other night and it was in the most amazing fashion. 20th guy, both down to minimal energy, one hit and we are both ****ed... I lunge in with a high punch cause am shaking like a leaf and cant take anymore of it, AI revereses it, so I think its over, NOOOOOOOOOOO... but wait, instantly and for some reason I cant quite explain I try to reverse his reversal as it is a melee attack and BANG, I reverse HIM throw him over my shoulder and win, WOOHOO!!

By the time I look back at the screen after my celebration number 21 has put me to bed, lol, but I didnt care, 20 wins ya prick, get it round ye

This may be my most played 360 game in terms of game hours, I cant put it down!!

I had to give up fighting the boss tonight. I was very close to throwing my pad at the screen. Truly the most frustrating boss I have ever seen in a video game, beating even those in Ninja Gaiden.

All I want to do is unlock Helena then play online... why do you make me suffer Itagaki!

Played this at my friends house for many hours tonight, i'm not impressed, this is not the next leap in the fighting genre IMO.

Did anyone really expect it to be?

I was expecting DOA in Hi Def, which it is!

Anyway, this game ****s me right off. I'm unsure if i'm into it that much.

I'm working my way through story mode and have one character left till i finish it with all characters.

I've never owned a DOA game before but played a fair bit of DOA3 with my bro on his xbox. That last boss Dural Bitch is REALLY ****. REALLY REALLY ****. something one has to endure. cheap as chips.

And there are really strange difficulty spikes throughout the story mode.

I few times i've been stuck on a round vs a SUPER HARD oponent and every other oponent during that story mode run is a walk in the park and gets proper schooled

Its one of those times when i wonder if blowing 60 quid on a arcade stick will rejunviate my interest in this game.

does anyone know if it's possible to get get my Hori PS2 stick to work on the 360 with a usb adaptor? i'm pretty doubtful but one can hope.

What were you expecting though? If you want the next evolution in fighting games, then I would imagine it'd be Virtua Fighter 5. Dead or Alive 4 (bar the last boss), is a good, fun game to play; easy to pick up and hard to master, just how a beat-em-up should be IMO.

Oh, and Kotatsu fear not, my Arcade Stick has already taken a battering - literally. After the nth time of being beaten, I chucked it onto the bed and in a pure comedy moment, it bounced off and landed on the hard-wood flooring, luckily those things are quite well built.

It's a testiment to how good the XBL Achievements are - I've put about 15 hours into single player so far in order to unlock various things.

Like others though, the 100-win on survival can F right off! I got 17 last night which I was well-chuffed with. Unfortunately it's always the same character that kills me - uber-cheep Bayman, the worst character ever designed. Cheap mofo.

The boss isn't that bad. Just keep using PPP or PPKK or any other simple combo. The boss never counters and doesn't really block. All you have to worry about is spacing, as PPP type moves tend to push the boss away.

Running at the boss will likely see you punished, so wait for the boss to come at you, then PPP etc again. Or as the boss comes at you from distance, use a move like Ayane's qcf+K or Hayate's qcf+P.

The boss is a pain with the slower characters though as I am finding out now. Working my way through time attack mode with everyone now to unlock the final character

Must have put in 30+ hours already
