Pretty much. Foward + Kick will stop her main spinning move

The best advice I could give is to just be cheap yourself and make sure you're ready to hit her with something powerful as soon as you've knocked her down. If you wait too long she'll teleport, but if you time it right you can keep knocking her down over and over with the right moves

That said, she's bloody insane on Time Trial. I can beat her in about 1-3 tries on Story, but I spend about 20mins on Time Trial fighting her and only won two rounds

PPP or KKK combos work well on Alpha, you have to be really cheap against her tbh.

The best boss fights are against the other characters I think

I won in the end, amusing ending for Kasumi, but Christies was much better

Anyone mastered the counter moves yet? I can't pull them off to save my life.

Once the computer lets off the combo it's game over, blocking does nothing.

            Definately

I can get the occasional one in at the moment, but nothing like what I used to pull off with DOA3 due to the timing change. It's definitely going to take some time getting used to.

Played some more and fought the boss some more. I know Team Ninja are famous for putting super cheap bosses in their games, so I shouldn't be surprised that DOA4's one is so annoying. Once she starts a combo you can either a) throw the controller at the screen, or b) die. If I was on the test team for this game I'd of marked that on the 'fun' scale as a big fat zero.

I'm also finding the game in general (against the CPU) is so incredibly fast, and so difficult now that throws are very hard to use. There just isn't the time anymore. As soon as I go for a throw the CPU will start a 3 minute long combo juggle on me.

The game certainly has merits, but the AI difficulty and juggle stuff is really spoiling the show. I think once I've unlocked enough costumes I'll play online mostly, where the difficult is a little more human.

Has anyone had it crash on them yet btw? It's crashed 3 times for me today, all three times were when I was fiddling with the xbox guide while watching an online game. It would just completely lock up, requiring a restart.

Yep, that's happened to me twice. Once, to Spatial101's delight, at the start of a match with him.

(Well, it was funny really. But still. )

I don't get it. The game's not that hard. Go to sparring, press start -> Com 1st Action -> Blow -> High Punch. Then learn to counter it (diagonal-up-left on DPad + X). Then learn to counter the others (middle punch, middle kick, low attack etc). I've written all the counter-hold commands a few pages back.

Around 80% of the time the AI starts its combo with a high attack. Use that knowledge to your advantage.

I've had my 360 lock up more times with DoA4 that any other game - its probably something to do with the fact that Team Ninja seem to have forgot to code the game to pause when you press the big silvery button on the controller (which was what caused the problem for poor Keith that night).

DoA4 really doesn't like you messing around with the 360 guide when the games on - every lock up I've had has been either accessing the guide to read messages or sort out friends lists etc.

The worst thing is a hard reset of the system using it's main power button is required to sort it out

                      Very shoddy tbh

To be honest the whole Xbox Guide thing is unstable across the board - my 360 has crashed more accessing this screen than any other console I've owned has crashed. I hope they release an update because it taints an otherwise superb service.

I'm really getting into this game now, though I'm still the big Suck. Finding the single player story pretty easy now and can get through it using only a few continues - haven't attempted the slower characters yet, though. The endings are quite incredible, easily the best ever for a fighter The ninja related ones are really well directed, gets me quite pumped up for Ninja Gaiden 360 anyway...the less-serious endings are laugh out loud funny, so that gets my vote too

Oh, and Brad Wong for the death sentance. Stupid fking drunk, make up your mind how high you are hitting.

How do you quit an online game without entering into a fight?

Can't. And if you exit to dash the game has a tendency to crash. A bit rubbish really.

Yeah you can, the winner has to hit B after the match ends (A = Start Match, B = Back).

I got the Five Straight Losses achievement on my first five games, if there was one for Ten, I would have got that too.

i had a whirl on online for the first time last night.

i'd spent the week playing arcade and survival and decided to try online

first off, i'm finding the story mode fairly hard so i was expecting to get my ass handed to me online but luckily i found a good group of people who were about my equals and we had some really good fun games

                                even saw petej on there

the massive lag and online crash issues are unforgivable though. its obvious (doa ultimate as well) that team ninja can't do network code and i wish they'd hire someone that could

                                very good fun online though
