Jin from tekken 5 was cheap but at least you could have a proper fight with it.
The boss in doa 3 seemed like all counters did the same thing (so you go round the back of it).
And even worse when you knocked it down it caused a explosion knocking you away.
Like the boss battles in xmen vs streetfighter/marvel vs capcom. It felt like a depature from the previous fights

I've spent all morning with the last boss now with various characters and I'd like to re-evaluate my opinion of her. To my mind she's nowhere near as bad as DoA3's fire demon boss and she's less harsh than Jinpachi and his unstoppable moves.
She does have some annoying and powerful attacks (and a teleport move that's used way too much) but at least you have a hope of blocking her. I've found that's actually the best tactic so far - after blocking she opens right up for you to get some crafty attacks in.
Still have to be wary of her though

few more questions
1.What are the cutscenes/endings like?.I thought doa 3's were pretty good
2.The smashing through scenary has that been greatly expanded on?
3.Are there any improvements when it comes to juggle combos always found in previous games they were a bit to easy.
4.Is there a tag team mode?Last edited by eastyy; 04-01-2006, 15:02.

Cutscenes are all ingame assests and quite good, if a little bizarre. You haven't lived until you've seen
Hitomi almost eaten by a T-rex only to have Jann Lee kick it in the head to save her
.
Ending cutscenes are a lot better tho - the Hayate one is really cool but Kasumi's is just-
she's dreaming of being a Mermaid and getting kissed by a fish. Plenty of boobage almost on display though.
Christie's is just(but I'm not spoiling that one for anyone).
Scenery smashing is taken to a whole new level in this one. Levels seem to expand in all directions now meaning there's more than one direction a fight can go in.
The temple steps level feels huge with lots of different paths to carry on fighting (down the various flights of steps, under the archway etc). Some are a bit more restrained (such as the wrestling ring or the Vegas street).
There are lots of bits of destructable scenery too - pots and market stalls can be smashed up. In the Ninja Hideout level (my fav level so far) the wall boards can be knocked over too
Combo's and juggles feel the same as the others to me. Tag team mode is also in there.
Photo mode also deserves a mention. You can't use it in story mode or versus but you can let the CPU duke it out and take some snaps of the action (complete with motion blur). Its nowhere near as tweekable as PGR3's camera mode but it's a nice addition. It's just a shame that there's no way of getting any snaps off the 360 to show off elsewhere

Watch mode is in there and you can select the style of camera that the game uses (things like keep it on player one, revolve around the two fighters etc).
Not sure about the slo-motion. Can't say I've noticed any (other than the massive slo-motion white out when you KO someone on electrified scenery) but that's not to say it isn't there.
Replays are OK but a bit of a bind on times - the replay will always kick in before the animation for a combo or scenery incident has finished. So for example, your killer blow might make your opponent fly down a set of stairs (ouch tbh). They'll take a tumble only for it to be interupted half way through by the replay of the last few blows. It'll then kick back in to them falling down the steps before they come to rest and your character spouts their winning line.

Sounds like DoA3, combo get cut just after the killing blow. Does it manage to keep the character in the same screens with out flipping out and change angles every second.
Slow-motion in DoA3 happened either by holding down certain buttons in replay's or in watch mode it happens every now and then and lasts 5 seconds.

Slow motion is in there, but I can't find a way to control it (the game seems to do it on the replays / watch mode when it feels like).
Playing online again this evening and there was some serious lag going on. Thankfully the Live integration has an indicator which says how fast the connection is, so you can avoid the painfully slow ones as best as posible.
I can't wait for some of you lot on here get this as it might sort out some of the lag issues. We can start flying the British flag on the score boards. I think I'm the only one on there at the moment - albeit ranked something like a pathetic 58234th

2. Yes. Plus there's more interaction with the objects in the background eg you can hop over chairs, obstacles and perform jump attacks from them.
3. They require more skill in this game as the height that you launch your opponent varies depending on whether you connect with a Regular or Hi Counter. To inflict most damage you really have to think about what moves to follow up with.
4. I'm pretty sure there is, haven't tried it though.
