On last thing, can you throw a stunned opponent? One thing that annoyed me on DoA3 was, forcing the opponent in to slip, Wall hit or stun and not being able to throw them, as I would have loved to connect Tina?s bionic elbow(causes a crouching stun) into her Liger Bomb. Have they sorted this out, as it limited throws to punishing missed counters and those that turtle?d.

wow, wow, wow! have'nt really got time to go deep into this right now,but this is without doubt the best in the series and a game that any fighting fan can appreciate.
It's explosive fighting,i'll be honest and say i'd take this over VF or Tekken any day.Don't get me wrong,i enjoy my VF and Tekken, but DOA has allways been instant fun.DOA4 is instant and explosive fun, that makes other fighters feel like a chore! but it comes across as feeling alot deeper, which is good.I can't believe how little i use the counter's now.I use to whore them, but now it just does'nt feel necessary.
Survival mode is like the epitome of addiction. It's even more fun than it was before, which has alot to do with the new survival stage.
DOA4 has made my 360 complete 8)Last edited by Akira; 06-01-2006, 23:19.

Seconded I expected DOA:U plus a bit - it's amazing how actually playing something versus looking at screenies can ram a point home.
Things like the stage with the vehicles - they'll actually swerve/skid to avoid crashing into the fighters and it only adds to the hilarity when you're struck.
Little things like your gamercard motto appearing on the big displays on certain levels and in your lobby when online.
The level in the street with balloons and stuff always looked a bit bland to me but when you play it it's amazing - the way the apples all roll down the hill after you smash the crate (with proper physics) or the balloons floating off and the way they react when you crash through them - tremendous.
The new animations when you get knocked to the floor or "unsetttled" so you kind of stagger on your feet.
The jumping over stuff and launching a flying kick 8)
The overall (Team Ninja) incredible presentation of the whole thing - It's a game you can just leave running in attract mode and it still blows peoples socks off.
Stunning - just stunning. I can't believe how diverse & high quality the 360 software lineup is so soon after launch - The mind boggles at what is to come.
And that last boss character - TWENTY MINUTES I spent yesterday kicking her head in. This game is Ninja Gaiden hard no doubts. Itagaki don't pander to no pussies.
Can we have DOA:XVB 2 now please ? I'll wait for Ninja Gaiden
EDIT : Jesus how many DOA4 threads are there now ?

I'm really, really liking this a lot.
One of the complaints levied at the game has been the general difficulty of the game, which is a healthy challenge, it does co-erce you into learning the mechanics properly rather than mashing the buttons and hoping for the best. I prefer to have my arse kicked and to learn from it rather than breeze through it.
The last boss though, what a bitch. However, after scouring many a forum looking for tactics to defeating her, the solution was easier than expected. It ain't pretty, but a standard PPP or KKK combo will do more damage than trying the elaborate combos you might use for the other characters in the game.

Blocking which I mentioned earlier does work, but you have to be quick and have a lot of luck - plus you can't overuse it as she gets wise and goes to town on you.
Anyone else noticed any glitches in the animations yet? I'm curious as at least three or four times now I've seen me belt characters around the stage like ragdolls, knocking them to the floor, only for them to be up like a shot and laying in to me. It's not even like they're doing a recovery, they go from prone to standing and attacking in a split second.
It's almost like if you floor them when they're about to do a major combo, the game doesn't take to kindly to it and goes through the combo anyway. It's been most noticable with Jann Lee and Christie, on the more difficult stages (things like round 7 or 8 ).
