well it was snowing last night and it seems that the village is getting a lot busyer even after a few days.

It's cool being able to buy extra stuff to make your charicter diffrent, the pirate hat is my fave item at the moment, just found the coffie shopand there should be gig's in there as there is a stage in the corner which should be cool.

Overall im not missing the errands, but i wish there was a way to get more furniture for your house as mine still looks really bland, and whats the story with the upstairs room i can't change anything in there not even the wallpaper or carpet which is a bit lame really.

Still not tried out the online stuff as it seems to require a lot of coordination from both party's, i opened my gate and thats seems to indicate to other's that your online so i will do that everytime im on and near my wifi point in the vauge hope that someone else is online .

oh yeah just worked out that the animals now issue challenges instead of asking for Errands got some nice wallpaper from agent S for catching a pond smelt before him

Mine came today from VG+, so I guess everyone elses should be imminent.

Quickly discovering how compulsive the game is (I somehow never got around to getting the GC version), done basically nothing for a couple of hours but it was so hard to turn off. Don't really know what I'm supposed to be doing but enjoying it nontheless

I too got my VG+ copy today (post is sure slow this time of year).

My initial impression is that the village seems kind of... empty. I hope more animals will move in over time as it's so lifeless at the moment. Generally it feels like a lot of stuff has been cut out too, or maybe just hidden away in new places.

Also a touch disappointed with the visuals. It looks like the GC version more or less, but the frame rate... akkk. Too choppy. Shame after MarioKart pushed out such respectable visuals at 60fps.

But I will certainly play a lot more before coming to any sort of judgement. I loved this on the Cube and want to love this too.

I also thought the village was a bit bland at first but wait till you get a few more people and Nook makes his shop bigger, and the village really dose start to feel like a little comunity, had a visit from Moblin last night and that was quite cool too, he gave me a mario hat and i gave him a pirate one, ive also started a little apple orchard and a few seem to be takeing too, pears are ok but apples are better

As for the frame rate i think your in a minority there this runs fine for me not noticed it being choppy at all and havent heard coments of this kind from anyone else on other forums i think maybe all the FPS topics have gone to your head lets not start one in here

Heh heh. Well it runs 20fps or so I would guess. Quite a step down from the super slick 60fps of the Cube version, and lower than the 30fps the N64 original managed.

But it's not the end of the world as it's one of the slowest paced games ever made.

Glad to hear things pick up in the village. I'll be playing this plenty over the next few days! One thing I did hear was that most of the special events are gone now...? So no visit from Jingle, no halloween special etc. That would be a shame if true. And also... no NES games! That really is a downer.

              got this today too.
i didnt play the gamecube version, so i'm new to it all...but it seems nice enough.
just done all the stuff tom nook wants you to do. although i made a real mess of planting the flowers for him. hopefully i can change that later.

with any luck i'll have some wireless stuff setup tommorrow.
i assume each town is random, so it should be good seing what other people have been up to, and if they have better villagers than me.

You can pick up the flowers & re plant them if you mess up.

All towns are randomly generated which is half the fun. Each time you start a brand new game you dont know what its going to look like plus the fruit is random too.

Try to go village hopping & try to get the different fruits & plant them in your town as nook pays more for fruit thats not native to your town. Peaches seem to be a good earner i get 500 bells per fruit.

                Cha ching (^_^)

I'm in the 'got this today' club. Like Fuddle, I didn't play the GC version. Seems really great so far! The cuteness is just perfect. I have oranges in my town and, like my real world, it's cold and frosty! Looking forward to going online with it at some stage and having a look around other towns.

                    Nice!

Oh well, joined in on this as well. Got it as a present for the girlfriend (Ahem!) as we both loved the GC version, though I was guilty of not playing it as much as I should (how many spiders!!)

I think this is one of the best moves Nintendo could make as it was just made for the DS, easy text input, wireless gaming and dual screens for menus etc.

I will post my code when I get that far as I have only just started - still working for that bastard Nook!!

Perhaps someone can start a thread with all the forum members codes listed and the names of towns etc.

I imagine they're trying to play it safe - probably the right thing to do to be honest with kids playing it.

I just caught one of those fishes worth 15,000 bells, the sense of achievement is really bizarre . That bugger Nook's got his shop closed for refurbishment today though so I can't flog it. Scared I'm gonna accidentally donate it to the museum so I'm gonna go put it down in my house I think..

This plopped through the door yesterday and my missus swooped downstairs, swept it off the doormat and hid it to send to Santa Claus for packing! I am not a happy bunny.
