Am I the only person who absolutely loves the Rare logo at the start with that wonderful fan-fare music that sounds like the dolby digital logo (older version) in the cinemas? The hairs on my neck stands up every time.
I honestly think Condemned and Kameo are the best launch games because they are original titles and do not feel rushed until PDZ and PGR3 in some aspects. I am extremely baffled about the reviews it gained, especially considering there is hardly any if none at all game of this sort anymore - the closes game I can think of that matchs Kameo is Beyond Good & Evil even though they are completey different.
I finished the game last night and I feel that the last chapter is quite unnecessarily awkward and quite tacked on compared to all the rest. The last boss is good albeit a bit frustrating at first.
The ending made my heart sink, please ONLY read the spoiler if you have completed the game:
Anyway, when the game 'ends' you can still go back to the current adventure and find more coins, missions and collectables, which is nice. I found myself galloping around the 'world map' out of blue - it is just a very well built game and doesn't feel rushed with a lot of love poured into all the environments.
It gets a very solid 8/10 from me and I am inclined to re-play the game all over again one day. It is a short game as the clock states 13.42 hours when I completed the game and I did take my time, but the time it takes to complete is not a big factor if you enjoyed it from start till the end. Like I did.
Lovely job Rare.
