The reason there's not race timer in the solo career is because it's about Kudos - and perhaps the reason you're not finding it challenging is because, like you said, you've put 900 hours into PGR2. I think the platinums are pretty tricky.

If you want a lap timer - do the time trial modes.

But what about online racing? You can't see how close that really close race was anymore. And Play Time isn't about Kudos as it's not recorded.

It's a racing game, the lack of race timer is an insane idea.

Got myself ranked up to level 5 in solo career last night and so far have got gold in all trophies. Had silver in some of the earleir cone challenges but now that I have them sussed am goin back and getting around 9,000 per event, they are superb events!!

Absolutely love this title and everything about it just feels nice and comfortable. From the gorgeous menus to the handling of each car, it is all maticuloulsy modelled and really is as polished a game as you will find.

Rank 1 in solo career doesn't seem that far off now I am racking up the points in the cone challenges

Any one know how many Trophies there are in solo career? I have done 13 but cant see what the total is. Def gonna play through every one of them, they are far too much fun to leave hanging, hehe.

Everyone done the track in Tokyo with the MASSIVE jump? Comes after the second left hand turn in the track I done last night. I took some pictures last night after it with my F50 20 Ft in the air, it looks insane. Took a few tries to get the landing measured without hitting the side barriers but when you nail it and then powerslide into the right hand corner it is quite possibly one of the best sections of any track in the entire game!!

Can you map the gear change for manual to the right stick as seen in Forza? I always found using the buttons too fiddly for comfort, but the stick option in Forza worked so well.

Really loving this game, especially on Live (up to League 2 now). I agree that the lack of lap times is odd, but I can live without them. I was a bit dissapointed to find that the top players in the Nurburgring F1 course run over the chicane at the end of the lap - Bizzare should have put a post on the grass to prevent this (a la F355 Challenge). Other than that, all good, apart from players who don't know how to use the brakes of course. Interestingly, players on the non-street courses seem to be a lot more skilled that those on the street courses, perhaps for the reason that other than the first corner, there isn't really the opportunity to use other cars to get around corners.

Yeah, the open tracks really seperate the drivers from the idiots, the F1 and half F1 circuits a perfect example of this.

Thats dissappointing about the chicane on the top times. That bit of the track troubled me for ages and now that I have it sorted whatever car I am in you are telling me I have to run over it for the best time, ggrrrrrrrrrr!!

Absolutely loving the live play aswell, up to league 5 and am gonna start trying to get races on more of the open tracks where there aint so much of a free for all at some of the corners.

Yeah wanting a race or lap timer in a racing game with real world cars, cities and the most famous race track of all time is totally unreasonable..
