No, I think that they're photos of parts of the city that are superfluous to the game i.e. -buildings you can't see from the track (hence the low detail) etc. I think the point is that these buildings didn't need to be in the game, but were to flesh out the appearence of a big city, if that makes sense. The game looks far, far prettier than the photos.

No, this is not a reflection of the quality of game models, although I find it very impressive. They have whole streets with cars / lorries etc in them that you can't even see from the track. The London eye has individually modelled carriages; it's all polys, nothing 2D about it.
I find that very impressive, when you don't get anywhere near the object in the game.
The LOD gets a bit screwed up, which is why some of the textures go really low-res. (and some of them just aren't high-res to begin with, as you can't see them)

Congrats on finiding that **** by the way feemeant to say that, hehehe. The detail in the track models is insane, but rest assured anyone who aint played this the quality of the visuals where it really matters is fantastic !!
Really wish they had kept the Edinburgh tracks and got them really detailedmiss a good Scottish landmark to race round, hehe.

Also Saudia Arabia or Dubai would have made for some great racing.
I expect the booster pack should have something for us - hopefully not another US state.

I just saw a commercial of this, and Microsoft have done what every decent game company needs to with the next-gen, flaunted amazing real-time footage for the whole duration. I've seen lots of trailers for PGR3 before, but it looked outstanding. Gob smacking even.
I still can't make up my mind about it visually though. Maybe it was the component inputs in my local GAME, but it was very jaggy and the colours were muted on the Samsung screen they were using to demonstrate it. Completely the opposite from the in-game footage on the advert.

I've been on and off this for the past few days, and it's fast becoming my favourite 360 game. A few questions though for anyone who knows the answer to them:
1. Do you get something extra for exceeding the placement requirements for a medal (e.g. for a Gold you need 2nd place, but you end up 1st, is there anything extra the game gives you?)
2. In the achievements, it says you need to be a Bronze champion, Silver champion etc., but if you were to achieve Golds (i.e. pass everything on Hard) would you get the Bronze achievement straight away?
3. How the hell do you stop people from sending you spinning online? I could have won so many races had it not been for some Ferrari Enzo sending me spinning.

2. If you get gold for all the trophies then yes you will unlock the achievments for bronze and silver, etc.
3. You cant... its really down to how guys online drive. You have to be careful not to get into a position where it would be easy for them to send you spinning. Try things like slowing down lsightly as they approach your rear or taking a different racing line than normal... its hard to avoid sometimes but is more a reflection on the driver doing it to you, rather than the game.
