the wireless multiplay looks fun, is it 1 cart or 2 cart multiplayer.

Oh god, the old voices are pure cheese, is it normal to be laughing as im playing as any pretence of this been a horror have long gone.

Yeah. I've been playing as Chris today. I had totally forgotten about the cheesey joke - "looks like we got to the root of the problem". Absolute class.

Anyway, while playing today I noticed you can also "touch" Rebecca in the same way you can Jill & Chris.

Just got this game today, the Limited Edition one from YesAsia.

Will post impressions later, but isn't it odd that they use the western, edited intro... yet use uncut cutscenes in-game?

The Japanese intro is so different. As well as seeing more of Joseph's demise, and a few zombie dog headshots, the part where they run out the cast of characters has different music.

Isn't it the US version that was uncut and colour? The one I remember seeing online was "Resident Evil", in colour and had the Joesph bits I guess that could of been a version before they decided to cut it. Never played the original in Japanese so don't know for sure :/

Nope, the US version was the same as the European one.

The Japanese one was uncut and had different music, but still wasn't in colour.

Has the colour version actually appeared in a game yet? I know it exists.

I have only ever seen or heard about it being on the net. Perhaps its on the Japanese Biohazard Directors Cut or Dual Shock versions? But the one I have seen is US and is uncut. I'll get the link....

First video. I am damn sure the PAL PlayStation1 version was in colour, y'know. It's definetly cut, but I am sure it was colour.. I'll dig it out.

I'm so going to place my US pre-order soon. I recently played Resident Evil GC through with the girlfriend but only Jill's chapter.

                    Now I'll get to experience Chris's. 8)

Dunno mate, all I know is that the JPN PlayStation game was uncut black and white (I have it around here somewhere), the US game was cut, and we basically got shafted with the same edited version as the US game.

Odd that the JPN DS game has the edited intro, yet has uncut scenes in-game (like actually seeing the half-eaten head on the first zombie scene).

Certainly the end films were in colour, pretty sure the starting films were too.

even later versions of the game were cut in Japan

                          like the dual shock edition

the saturn version however is uncut as well

The colour intro is definitely in at least one of the Japanese PS1 versions. Probably the Director's Cut...I'd need to check to make sure.

agreed - it was in the first version released, one of the things i remember playing and my first ps1 import

the directors cut had it missing, one of the things that made it a directors cut

                              cheeky capcom

Looks like it must've been the PAL version I was thinking of (pretty sure that had a colour intro, but it was censored with less gore, and didn't show Chris smoking etc), because I just tried all 3 JPN versions of the game and the intros are all in black & white and uncut.

Each version has different music though.

Biohazard has a cheesy rock song (with vocals) for the Cast section.
Director's Cut plays the same music as Resident Evil for the Cast lineup.
Dual Shock Ver. features a orchestral piece for the cast lineup, and also has similar music during the actual intro as well.
