No, I feel they made the right decision. BioHazard is in it's original guise hasn't appeared on any consoles since the 1990's. RE2 however, got ported to all and sundry and is trotted out every few years for another last hurrah - Dreamcast, N64, GameCube, PC...even the Game.Com

I wouldn't have been half as interested in the DS game if it were a port of BioHazard 2.

I don`t really care how many other people bought it, my concern is that I`ve bought it and that`s all that matters!

Regardless of the reasons for bringing the original RE to the DS rather than any other version (the DS` technical limitations probably), I`m loving the fact that those of us who were playing RE in the very begining have the oppertunity once again to walk the corridors of the mansion in its 10 year anniversary.

My US copy of the game arrived on day of release and I`ve only just had my 1st game on rebirth today. Classic mode still keeps me entertained after all these years, this game is still great!

Well if you want RE2, RE3 etc on the DS then you should care how much it sells.

It would be disappointing if it sold badly, because you just have to play it to see that quite a bit of thought went into this one.
It's exactly because of REmake that so many people are skipping this. It was super high profile and came out fairly recently.

RE2 has been on other platforms (including a fairly stealthy Cube release), but never with the hype of REmake. I suspect most people haven't played 2 since the PSX days.

And that's a great shame, as the titles are so far apart in execution and what they're trying to achieve.

              I don`t.

The thing that makes RE so great on the DS is for the same reason Kubrick mentioned. PlayStation, Saturn, N64, PS2, PC, Dreamcast, GameCube, we`ve played all the others in the series on every other machine as they have been ported to death, with the exception of the original.

I also doubt that RE2 and RE3 would resemble anything like the originals due to the limitations of the DS` power, after all the FMV on REDS looks pretty dreadful but can be forgiven.

REDS is great because we all remember the original and we haven`t played it to death on every other console going. The original RE is still a great game but can I see myself playing any of the others on my DS?? The answer is no, not when I have them all on my Cube.

REDS serves a purpose, unlike a RE2DS or a RE3:NemesisDS would. If RE2 or RE3 never come to DS who cares? You don`t have to look very hard as to be able to play them.

I wish they'd release RE 2 with an unlockable version (I don't care if it's incomplete) of RE 1.5.

Would've liked to have seen that "1.5" game get completed and released as well but I guess it's a bit too late now.

The Dual Shock Version of BioHazard Director's Cut features movies of it on the second disc.

I wish Capcom would re-design RE2 or RE3 using RE4's engine. The splendor of RE4 set in an apocalyptic Racoon City where everyone is fighting for themselves.

                    If only.

                      Please stop.

Everytime someone mentions that I get too excited. Another REmake style update of number two would be mind blowing, but I fear it wil never happen

i can barely begin to imagine just how good that would be.

i imagine it'd be like sex but fun and without the humiliation

it is possible to get hold of what exists of 1.5. there is a beta version if you know where to look. it was in that article someone posted a while back about rare unreleased games

Never understood why people want 1.5 so much. I mean, yeah I'm curious as a Resi fan, but they scrapped it for a reason. I love the existing RE2 myself, and am somewhat glad we recieved the RE2 we did.

Totally agree - there are lots of things that get scrapped in development processes because they simply aren't working. If they spent that much development time on something, they wouldn't dump it on a whim - it must have been seriously bad.

Remember some of the early RE4 vids? They looked absolutely stunning. Of course we ended up with an incredible game in the end, but I'm sure what they dumped could have turned out into a great looking regular RE game.

Dude, you mustn`t be doing it properly, or maybe doing it with the wrong people. There are videos availiable on the internet that may help 8)
