Well, I've been gone for like 4 months, and there's only been like 15 posts in this board? Well, at least now the Pal is gonna be released, so I can finally come back to discuss DMC with my original cronies. Mardigan, Spagamaster, how you boys been? And man, even Saur's still hanging around? I remember his last post on this page, and he was like angry at some newb or something, said he was leaving, and never saw him again.

I heard about the Pal release on the IGN boards and I have to admit I'm jealous of the Box art, it looks so much better than crappy American version.

Neway, just to get things started, if you guys are interested, I just recently put together a new vid of some Vergil practice in lvl 7, might give you some ideas of what Vergil can really do.

Looking for some advice from you boys on the best way to record gameplay footage to PC, etc. Wanted to do this initially when had DMC3 spinning all sorts of smoke, but never bothered. With the SE due to hit I see no better reason to finally get the capability in place any advice welcome?

I have a reciever which everything plugs into, all game system goes into the reciever, and speakers and a single video feed goes into my TV, but I also have a seperate set of cords that my Video camcorder came with that I managed to find a seperate Outgoing slot for, so anything going into the reciever can be captured on the cam. From the cam, you can record it on to tape and then trasnfer it on the PC via firewire and a program like Windows movie maker.

Thats for superior quality, and is definately a more complicated process. If you buy a tuner card, you can play the game right on the monitor of your PC, and record anything your doing at the same time.

First I tried ordering this from play.com, but for some reason they would only send it to an english address, and then I found out it's been out in Sweden for a few days now. I've put seven or eight hours into it already, playing with Vergil.

Are you fighting as Vergil in that vid? Cause all the moves he was using were Dantes sets... it did look like Vergil but just a skin as the moves, etc were all Dante. Struggling to see what the difference was using that character as opposed to Dante other than the look of him?

It is a pretty mean run through on Vergil 1 though, you took that boy to the cleaners

That could work for parrying and then attacking, but you wont know which direction to point toward, thats something that the sound doesnt tell you.

That stuff where you are driving down from above into the grounded enemy, teleporting back up and rinsing it a few times just looks filthy, brilliant man, brilliant!!

PS. Am guessing you were playing it on Turbo speed cause V is flying about like a madman!!

Oh yaeh, thats turbo alrite. And thx for the compliments, that motivates me to get even better. The reason I say in the vid to consider this half my potential w/ vergil is because of a guy on IGN by the name of Xarugas, and his Vergil is like 5 times as good as mine. Neway, consider me his unofficial protige, since I base my Vergil play on him. He's so good he can pull that Helm Bringer teleport up trick like 5 or 6 times, I only managed 2 or 3 hits at most in that vid I think, and thats just one example.

If you want some really sick combo vids, here's two really good sites: 1st is an IGn game page, plenty of great stuff there, and the 2nd is the Devil's lair, which has a combination of a whole bunch of stuff.

When I was at the peak of my DMC play I was basing nearly all my stuff on Venom743 from heres vids, some of his boss methods with Dante were nuts. Like the no weapon take down of Mission 2 Vanguard boss and some insane speed runs of Vergil3. Could never quite reach the 40 odd seconds he was setting on Vergil3 but god dam it it felt good going close and knowing you had Vergil in your pocket.

There were some brilliant routines flying about back then and there are going to be some amazing ones hitting the forum pretty shortly with Vergil
