Keep an eye out for Venom and Saurian, I have a feeling they'll be releasing some awsome vids themselves soon enough i bet, prolly just investing time to get to DMD mode

My data was not compatible either - but it was really refreshing playing through the easy modes again with a fresh out of the plastic Dante, proper made me appreciate things a lot more that I used to take for granted. Normal and Hard have fallen like a tonne of bricks, currently on stage 12 of Very Hard and I'm absolutely loving this mode as this is what I was waiting for - when I get to Mission 16 I can see myself sitting in the Skull Room with the Hell Sloths for a few weeks.
The modes you unlock with Dante you will have available at the start with Vergil when you start a new game, so if you've unlocked Hard and Very Hard with Dante you will be able to start on Very Hard Stage 1 straight away with Gerbil. So while I'm getting to and through Dante Must Die with Dante I've just been messing about with Vergil on Bloody Palace, I feel like such a n00b it's like when I first got my hands on the controls for Dante! Vergil's system is so different from Dante's it's like another game, the completely different method for weapon switching is something that's gonna take me a few weeks to get down but I'm determined!
Absolutely cannot get enough of the new Jester fights - the 3rd time you encounter the Jester on Mission 17 is officially the stuff dreams are made of! XD - I can sit in that projectile filled washing machine with Royal Guard all day. I cant believe how much fun this is, everything they have added to the game is MINT (all I wanted was Very Hard Mode, all the rest has blown me away - Turbo is incredible!) - it's TOO fun, there must be something about this game that aint legal.

I've honestly never noticed any difference between the Japanese and USA versions of DMC3 let alone this one. Normal and Hard are barely any different from eachother in terms of difficulty (Hard just gives you enemies that can actually handle a little more of your combos) - it's Very Hard and Dante Must Die where you can really unleash hell. I find the bosses in Normal and Hard more difficult to fight than in Dante Must Die because they wait and delay their attacks so much - have you seen the movie "Versus"? Where that guy pulls off Keanu Reeve's bullet dodging, but does it WAY too early and gets killed anyway? - That's what Normal and Hard are like - I've banged out a whole set of commands and the boss is still sitting there readying the attack I've anticipated.
My problem with Vergil's weapon switching cycle is that my dexterity with my left hand is truly pathetic so I cant use the L2 button during combos (I can just about hold L1 for DT charge), everything on my right hand is like auto-pilot tho - I can bang out the most insane sets and mix them up as I like. So what I'm doing is instead of hitting L2 to cycle backwards one step through the 3 weapons I'm learning how to hit R2 twice to get to the same position within the cycle. I need to get my speed up so I can tap R2 twice in the jump cancel window of the Starfall and Helm Breaker and resume the juggle - the stuff I've got going with Killer Bee/Starfall cancels now is x-rated with Dante - but with Vergil I need to work a lot more and master this little tech to make it grim.

Thats what I was thinkin... rather than using both directions to cycle through weapons only use one button and just learn how many buton presses are required to get to the weapon I want.
Bear in mind all this is theory at the moment since I am still about 2 weeks off even getting to look at this game

L1 - Shoot guns, so I can buffer the swords at all times
L2 - DT, can buffer the DT at all times
R1 - still the targeting
R2 - jump, to simplify jump cancels
Tri - still attack,
Circle - switch Devil Arms
Square - Switch guns
X - style
The customized controls for Dante, which changes the ones above to: L1 - for style, Square - to shoot, X - to switch guns, which i learned around 80 hours into the game, and found it was much easier to do many advanced tactics, such as enemy step cancelling, and jump cancels. This setup for Vergil, alhtough slightly different, simplifies wpn switching, cause its all done w/ my right hand, and the Attack (tri) is so close to both wpn switches, and they're still at opposite ends, so its easy to remember 1 is clockwise, and the other is the opposite. the only problem with this is that it can be slightly difficult to buffer the sword Throw for force Edge, and the Juggernaut Cut for yamatto, and teleport around with Dark Slayer, but I found a way to hold down Tri with the tip of my thumb while hitting X with the bottom and manage, somehow, not to hit either Circle or square, which would change my wpns.
Its a little advanced, but for anyone who thinks the Original controls arent up to par, I recommend either setup for both characters.
