Not far into this yet but its looking as though it's the 360's answer to Halo1 - everything is just perfect, gfx's, controls and the way it just sucks you into the story.
Decided on becoming a Wood Elf Assassin, with The Shadow specialist subject - been doing ok against rats, goblins and wolves but just come up against a bloody vampire that is kicking my arse big time (and infecting me with vampirism - no way do i want to go through the game as a vampire this early in the proceedings) so I am thinking of just turning away from these ruins till a later date, or maybe waiting till it gets daylight. Even tried eating some bloody garlic to see if that stopped the bastard, but it just made him kick the **** out of me more.
Only problem I have upto now is my character is a lightweight mofo - i have two bows (iron and steel), a **** load of arrows and bits of armour (leather mainly) and anything heavier than a short sword gives me 'over encumbrance' - hope i can find a gym somewhere and get him beefed up

Thats mental. I'm so angry the postie screwed me over with this, tomorrow is gonna rock, gonna get at least a asolid 5 hour go at it before the plans for the rest of the day take over..
And then I'm working on Saturday too..
My mate has been playing this all day and said he hasn't done any quests at all yet, just playing about doing daft stuff. He said someone gave him a horse and then other people set the horse on fire!!!!Mental!
What other wee funny stories of things done do people have to keep me going?

John, raise strength on level up. It'll boost up what he can carry.
I haven't actually got that many stories to tell yet.I'm just sorta wondering around trying to find the thieves guild and chatting up random NPCs in the process. My speechcraft has been raising pretty good.
The game IS fun as hell though! I just wish I had more lockpicks so I could break into a few more random people's basements.
If anyone could tell me where the thieves guild is, or an archer's guild or something, please do let me know.Last edited by Silvergun X; 23-03-2006, 23:18.

I have honestly never been so excited about a game, Ive not felt like this since the christmas when I was 12 and got Aladdin on the MD. I HAVE actually finished my uni assignment early! just so I can play this game all tomorrow (yes I know its today now, but I dont consider the day complete until I sleep)

can i just say (while drunk, i played for about an hour and i'm so pleased with how much better the combat is to morrowind. The LOD issues with the cliffs far away are abit annoying but i somehow have faith that it'll be fixed or sorted out somehow. Anyway far more important things like playing it are at stake!!

If you're just sticking to the path, then no, you won't see a huge amount of what is interesting. There are over 200 dungeons placed all over the world, and there'll be many more other things you can do as well. I did hear they reduced the number of enemies you encounter when travelling though, a lot of people complained that there was too many in Morrowind.
But the Fast travel system was designed for people that don't like doing this - you should be able to travel to any of the nine major cities in the world from your map, as well as anywhere you have previously visited. You will, of course, end up missing a lot of the dungeons and so on.
Picking a character with a faster speed attribute, and carrying less will make things go along a lot quicker. (as will picking "The Steed" birthsign)
Originally posted by PiroticLevel system - I've closed two gates and i'm still level 1, because the creature level scales to that of the player, whats the point in me leveling up exactly ? :P
Originally posted by PiroticIt seems like an entertaining enough game, but it's certainly far from being the classic everybody is trying to make it out to be.
For people that love role-playing games, like myself, it's one of, if not the best RPG around, as its skill system and lack of boundaries really lets you role-play, rather than being stuck to a main story, or whatever sort of skill system the game has.
If I'm playing a thief character, for example, and I find some great enchanted battle-axe, I can pick it up and use it if I want. I may not be great at using it, but if I give it time, work at it, and gain enough levels I can eventually master it and use it just effectively as my bow - I'm not restricted in what I can and can't do.
