You should probably walk away from it for a few months and return when their are patches to sort out the problems along with expansion packs. Then everything would seem kickass again.

When it's running smooth, that's when, Oblivion's untouchable in many respects.

Completed the quest gerry mentioned and ive now got the skeleton key and im having a whale of a time ha ha
Keep getting ran out of town by the guards for "practising"
Did the brotherhood quest with the
5 guests that you need to kill in the mansion 1 by 1
possibly the best quest ive had so far i reckon
Except maybe
the quest for the orc god statue where you go free the trolls from the mines, then you go back to the dude who enslaved them to find out hes now enslaved and working the farm for the trolls ha ha ha

Cheers!
If your pc can run it, then the pc version is going to be the better version, well from what I have read from this thread. Most 360 players seem to be experiencing crashes and glitches, yet I havn't come acrossany yet in the PC version (maybe im just lucky(.
To add to that the PC version has the modding scene, which is already huge. There have already been some nice mods released by the community, some have added new quests, improved weapons and armour, even changed the way the leveling system works. Two of the better mods available, are one to remove all the annoying "loading" messages, and another that adds a petshop in the city of Cherrydyl, where you can buy pets that will fight with you, and even level with you.

Thanks for the advice, sounds like the PC version is better!

I just had a complete poo-my-pants moment:
I was carrying out a quest for the Fighter's Guild where a Mage wanted 10 lots of Imp gall. She directed me to a cave outside of town. Sure enough it was full of Imps which are just fodder for my level 16 character. So I'm rushing through the cave, twatting Imps with my a non-enchanted weapon (not wanting to waste the power in my better weapons) and finding it very easy.
I look at my map and see there is one part of the cave I haven't been to. So I wander over and the battle music kicks in again. Thinking it's another Imp I rush round the corner to be confronted with a massive Land Atronach who charges me and sends me reeling! Massive panic attack, I try to change weapons but I can't, I'm getting battered by the thing in a tight corridor. Eventually I manage to summon a creature that gives me some breathing space and suit up for an epic battle. Eventually it falls, with me with around 5 health left.
Brilliant!

Reason I say this is because before my first 360 eventually conked out, I would get random crashes, glitchy sound on Ridge Racer 6 and it went on for a while before the machine gave up the ghost, now though, since acquiring a replacement machine, I've not had Oblivion crash once on me yet. The only problems I've encountered are the glitchy quest bugs, like for example, the NPC not saying the correct thing when one has acquired all the necessary ingredients to cure vampirism for example.

Is the 360 as good as the PC version? Anything important I should know regarding difference between the two versions?
If the 360 version is pretty much the same, he won't have to buy a new PC!
I've not had any crash problems at all on my 360.

Concept, I think you should change your location to "Cleaned my Cache"
