Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion

[Concept]

10/10 o_O

This is the first time a game has made me want to buy a console >_<

Popular consensus amongst the team is that indeed, the game is worth 10/10. My personal feelings differ, though I've hardly kept them a secret.

If the engine was more stable and I'd been luckier I would have gone with 10 myself.

Still a must play game either way.

You need a fame of 13 but it's also going to cost you 20000 gold and you need to get disposition up to 70. Without any furniture it's not that much use as there won't be anything to put your stuff in, and that's another 3K for each upgrade (I think there are 6 upgrades on that one if I remember right).

I've never had anything taken out of containers in houses I own, stuff in the street does get taken though.

There's no way of choosing items of furniture, the upgrades are all predefined, but yeah, there are some bookshelves in the bigger houses. Actually, thinking about it, there was also a small shelf in the tiny house on the waterfront - that's one is all in, no upgrades available.

Did a lot of the thieves guild missions some are really nerve racking as you try to avoid the guards.

Unfortunetly one of the missions got me suspended from the mages guild (seems like even a arch mage can be suspended).

Also got through a lot of lock picks in them missions.I really must try to get the unbreakable lock pick.

Seems like i am on the last thiefs guild mission looks like this is going to be a epic quest

Having a bit of trouble with a side quest I got given by the Sanguine shrine...

I have to get into a party that is being held by the countess in Leyawin so I can cast a spell on her but cant seem to get an invite. I done the stuff with that orc woman but she got killed so the count wont be giving me an invite since he aint happy about that... does anyone know of another way to get an invite, assuming getting info from that orc was the first way? really want to get this side quest out of the way.

I didn't get my invite via that mad looking Orc. In fact, all I did was turn up at around dinner party time (I love how things in the game are time specific) and walked to the guard who stands by the party. I just chatted to the gaurd and he let me in. I think he asked me some questions, but getting in was no problem.

I did what I was there to do, made myself invisible and pegged it out!

I aqctually started a full on battle outside the castle when trying to do the quest the other night... there were a few folk outside from the fighters guild who were pals with me and when all the guards started attacking me for spamming some magic off the countess the fighters guild boys backed me up, it was brilliant. Sadly I didnt live long enough to see how it turned out but was fun seeing them help me.

I never managed to complete the Sanguine quest, but the effect of the spell you have to cast on them all was pretty funny

Well due to a screw up at my local GAME I've managed to get hold of a wired 360 pad and the PC version of Oblivion trading three titles in and making over ?20 for myself in the process. Let's hope this is a sign of improved fortunes when it comes to the game itself.

havent played this for a few days but have nearly all the achievements on it now just some of the thieves guild left to do and part of the main quest. Is it true that in the main quest every single oblivion gate has to be destroyed?

We'll thats it, Shadowmere is no more :'(

She stopped following me at some point after collapsing down a hill then falling into a pond, she got up but drowned and never revived, I though she was invincible alas she's not. Fond memories of running for my life from a massive ogre thinking Im done for and Shadow appearing from nowhere and saving my life, the time when my pad ran out of battery during a fight with two bandits, she took them on single handed whilst I mucked about getting the pad recharged.

Now I must find another companion......

I thought that Shadowmere was immortal too - she can get knocked unconcious when all the health goes but always gets up again. Perhaps she's just constantly drowning. Have you tried pulling her out by grabbing her with the left shoulder button?
