Just did that dreamworld quest, easy but pretty damn cool!

I NEED this item, I find the lockpicking fun, but it's very frustrating when I press the button with the pin at the top, and still my lockpick breaks and I have to start any. Whilst on the subject of that any tips for picking locks?
Does getting a higher security skill really help?
You can get this item by doing the Nocturnal Shrine quest (near Leyawiin, the road on the right hand side) Just walk out of the north east gate following the path. Its just north of Blankenmarch. You should be able to do the rest as its an easy one.
Hope that helps.

Originally posted by JebusI still feel I haven't quite got the hang of levelling up? Can anyone put it in lamens terms? To level a skill up you just use it a lot? Cos I've been jumping all over town and it's not doing much...
How many skills do you need to level up to get a MAIN level up (ie sleep and level up) ?
Some question about lock picking
Now level 9 and 15 hours - I'm due to visit the Imperial City for the first time soon, though I may distract myself with side quests for a little while.

Originally posted by BoggyAfter 70 hours this game is finally starting to grind on me and it feels like a chore. 70 hours is a bloody long time though, i think i'll just give it a rest and rock on with GH for a few weeks and come back to it.
Anyone else had the same problem?
Frankly if a game keeps my attention for 14/15 hours it got to be bloody good, the fact I'm at 20 hours and still wanna play it RIGHT NOW, is incredible.
70 hours, if I play it that much may well mean "Game of the Year" for me since it's been a long, long time since a game held my interest for so long...in fact not since Final Fantasy VII have I been so captivated.
At the end of the day, 70 hours I'd consider it a damn good buy so if you lose interest then, that's still an incredible feat on the game designers behalf.

Maybe its just me, but I hear absolutely no difference in the sound between when your pushing the pins up too fast, or when you doing it at just the right speed.
All you have to do to pick locks is bounce the pins until the pin moves up at a slow speed, then try to lock it as soon as it hits the top of the lock. You can still lock the pins if you push them up quickly, but its a matter of having fast reactions, hence the slower moving pins are slightly easier to lock. It's all a matter of timing really.

Originally posted by NijoI think PeteJ said 5 major skills need to increase before you level up (about 30 pages back). What are your major skills? Mine include athletics, acrobatics, stealth, and something to do with archery, which I use all the time so they level up pretty quickly - like every 10 minutes. If acrobatics isn't a major skill it won't contribute.
But it's still worth levelling your acrobatics up isn't it, since you want to be a balanced character? Something I think I'm doing rather well at so far.

Originally posted by NijoI'm using the D-pad to push the pins up so (for me) it has nothing to do with what I'm doing to them. They either stick or not, with sticky pins tending to follow bouncy pins. I'm sure there's more to it than that, but it's working for me.

Originally posted by ZanzaAh I'm using the pc version, so it could be different I guess. I just lock the pins as they hit the top of the lock, works a charm. When I said bounce the pins, I basicaly meant keep hitting up until the pin moves at a slightly slower speed, which makes timing it to hit the top slightly easier.
