I'm just wondering, Im planning on starting with the bow and arrow and then building it up and then swap to Melee combat and train that up, what I'm wondering is
    • Will it make it harder in the beginning?
    • Whats the transaction of sword and bow+ arrow like?

Six hours in, haven't even bothered with the main quest. There's just so much to do. Explored a dungeon to pick up some loot - took me over two hours. And there's loads and loads of these dungeons all over the place. Bloody enormous game. I'm determined to explore every nook and cranny as well.

      Back to it then.

Yes, it apparently uses the HD to cache assets. I haven't read anyone play the game without the HD, though someone HD-less is picking the game up tomorrow over at Rllmuk.

Well first of all, you can assign shortcuts on the d-pad, so swapping between bow and sword is pretty much instant = very very handy.

You won't be able to train on just bow, some enemies will just rush you and killing them with a bow up close is very difficult. I tend to use bow for the sneak attack (+2 or 3 depending on level) then switch to sword+shield. Magic is assigned to the right bumper, so you can still throw fireballs whatever weapon you are using

What difficulty are people playing this at?

Had it at default and found it pretty easy, all the rats dying in one or two hits, took the slider up to 3/4 and was struggling to say the least.

Can't decide whether to keep battling on at a higher lvl or just enjoy the sights.

Damn good, just stopping for some food and the going to start a new character once I've had a look through the manual.

            Wish the coin was chocolate

Thinking about a change in Class when I finally get back to this tonight, and get the option again when exiting level 1. Thinking of switching to Dark Elf, as they seem to maintain a good +5 bow and marksmen skill while also getting +10 blade and destruction magic. Feel they may be more suitable to the uber assassin character I want to build

When I looked at the difficulty in options before even starting the game, the bar seemed to be 7/8ths of the way to the right, which I thought would be hard enough and left it their. Seems strange if all are not defaulting to the same setting, or maybe I just read the guage wrong !

edit : My rats take a hell of allot more wacking hacking than that, so I'm guessing mine must be higher !

                I hate these b*stards

                  Mine was dead centre.

Has it's advantages being easier, shoot rats mid jump is great fun.

Dark elf is what i have gone. I don't have the game yet. My flat mate got his copy from Gameplay early and i have to wait till tomorow to buy it from game (got a Gift Card to use ya see!). I had a 1/2 hour window to try the game out and only just managed to create the look of my elf (called Link naturally) before he snatched it back. Man i want to play it some more

The more I play this game the more i feel it's simply broken, the amount of bugs and glitchs which can **** up your whole game at random are just unacceptable.

I get off my horse (which i was given!), but if i get back on it near anybody, they start shouting thief and before i know it the entire ****ing city is after me!.

I'm standing on a ledge, my own summoned creature walks past and knocks me into a pit of lava and instant death.

Walking! what's up with all the bloody walking in this game? It's all very good the game world is 14 miles large but all they've bloody done is put tons and tons of nothing but randomly generated terrain between anywhere of interest, even on the horse you have to ride around for sometimes 30 minutes just to reach your next check point.

Level system - I've closed two gates and i'm still level 1, because the creature level scales to that of the player, whats the point in me leveling up exactly ? :P

It seems like an entertaining enough game, but it's certainly far from being the classic everybody is trying to make it out to be.

I've not played it enough to comment on the gameplay or any bug issues yet (it feels like Morrowind so far) but a few things I have noticed:

Music is top notch. Ambient sound is great (animal sounds, wind). Voice acting seems fine.

It is very pretty! The graphics are notperfect but are pretty damn impressive. The sense of scale is incredible and what I've always wanted from an RPG since playing Ultima VII (which despite having a limited view distance felt huge - because it was!).

However there is noticeable pop up and yes if you look you can see the grass "filling in" and sometimes you there's a jarring jump as a tree shifts its LOD. But to be honest this is nit picking. Its all mightily impressive. I've certainly never scene such epicly huge outdoor scenes before - they just stretch on for miles to a realistic vanishing point.

When I stepped into the outdoors for the first time my jaw did hit the jaw and stay there a good while as I wandered around watching the sunset and sunrise.

Also I love harvesting the mushrooms. Reminds me of being at school

target one and press A - you'll be given the option to go to jail.

Then break out and pwn for another day.
