I have discovered a way to steal without ever being caught in the act...

Chameleon enchanted stuff! Get a full Grand Soul gem (or Azura's Star) and you can enchant an item of clothing with 20% Chameleon. This makes you only 80% visible, and "predator" like. Makes sneaking around easier, as you are less likely to be seen.

But, these items are stackable. Get 5 20% Chameleon clothing items (I have shoes, trousers, shirt, amulet and a ring) and you are totally invisible. However, unlike when using an invisibility spell, the effect does not stop if you attack or pick something up.

So you can steal things in people's houses with them "watching" or keep hitting enemies with a 6x sneak bonus.

If you're talking about the part with the white structure in the background and guy dressed in gold armour then yes I'm sure. Most of these places have bandits lurking nearby, which is probably what the guy is. The gold armour he is wearing is elvern armour, it's pretty common place when you're notch up a few levels, so nothing special again. I just think stands out as being unique as it's built up the side of a hill, but it follows the same pattern as all the rest. Some just look more grand than others.

I just experimented a bit and I can confirm the number of items you're carrying (have in chests?) has a big impact on the loading times. I had a chest full of ingredients and my inventory was also full with lot's of different items and I noticed things were getting rather choppy. Load times between areas were becoming longer, the loading outside became more obtrusive and opening chests and even the save menu took longer.

So I got all the stuff out of my chests, spend 40 minutes mixing potions and then sold off 95% and divided the rest between the chests and my inventory. And I have to say the result is shocking, everything is smooth again, loading only a few seconds. I haven't had much problems with crashes so far but I can imagine it would have a positive effect on these too. So for everyone having problems, try keeping your inventory to a minimum, hopefully this will work for everyone.

Don't think the items you have in chests effects general loading - items in inventory more likely would. The more you have in chests, the longer the inventory in that chest takes to appear when you open the chests, which leads me to suspect contents are stored on HD in seperate files for each container - no point in loading up content that's not being currently used, it's a waste of bandwidth.

I think I have messed up big time, I was doing the Layawin Mages Guild recommendation quest

the one with the daft old bint who needs an amulet. Anyway I tracked down the dodgy mage, Klathir (sp?), got the amulet and did a runner. When I got back to Layawin the women says nothing has changed, I go back to the dungeon and I can't get into the room where I got the amulet. Its says it needs a key, which I am sure I had, and it also keeps telling me Klathir is unconcious

I don't suppose anyone can help me?

Oh. and I have just been suspended from the mages guild, again.

I have started playing the game from scratch

Also i got the mod pack for the pc which adds some handy things

Saddle bag for the horse so you can store your loot
Short grass which reduces the size of the grass so you get better performance
Higher res textures so it makes the distance look less blocky does not appear to hit the performance much

eastyy, that saddlebag mod sound pretty handy. What happens
like yesterday, to me. If your horse runs off, when attacked. Do
you lose your gear ? back to shank's pony, i suppose....

Uli, i assume there using the beta-patch for the PC. To test the
final. THen release it for the xbox360. Shouldn't be long, i hope..

Hey El Leone. Skingrand's your destination. They deal with Destruction
spells. I think your looking for "Sever Magicka". One of the bloke-Mages
                      there sell it...

Also, it's not needed for a certain pillar quest ?

Black Soul Stone/Necromancer Alter Quest ?

                          If so

your ment to stay there till you see a glow, casting down from the
sky above the alter. I waited for a couple of days. Went crap this, came
back much later and waited two or three hours. Then out came a Necromacer
from the cave. It happen on a Tirdas, or Turdas, when the sun went down.

There's one in the chest next to that gadgy standing around.

I've now got a game ruining glitch. I'm supposed to meet Oreyn in the Lleyawin fighters guild hall except he isn't there! The marker points to him but you can't see him. Sometimes if you look away he appears but the one time this happened and I pressed A in time it was like I was searching his dead body and I got kicked out. Aaaargh!

                                Did you see the

Necromancer doing his thing with the Dark Soul Stone
though. He's suppose to come out and enhance it or something and message
will pop up telling you, you've seen what you need ? Take the Dark Soul
Stone from the alter. You can still kill them in the cave,

                                after
                                though i think ?

Hey Mr Spoon. Haven't done any fighter's Guild Quests, but i know how
you feel. Had a problem with a door that would never open in a certain
mages quest. Had to reload and do something else, to stop the above
                                happening.

I've even had a Matrix-style glitch the other night. I jumped out of
some water and i froze in mid air. I could move, but couldn't get down.
Until i touch a rock and started running again. Funny, up till that point
only ever had one crash and that was me, messing around with the ini
                                file.
