Hey Blair. It should be a simple matter of meeting the guy/mage (can't
remember his name) downstairs, at the right time. Stabbing him isn't wise,
if you can load a game just before that, if it's no working out right. Also,
it's usually handy to do a bit of speechcraft on the people you talk to.
Just to get on their friendly side. Try it again, see if you have any luck...

Generally i never noticed much dissapearing. The odd thing will, but
overall on the PC anyway, the majority doesn't. A good example, like
Yoraths mullet was saying. The amount of times i'd see poor old Glarthir
in Skingrad dead outside the church. (my first mission in the game!). Also,
the ring of burden in the mages guild i left on the doorstep outside the
guild. Also, returning to camps around the map, you'll notice swords etc
from a good while ago. MartyG's right though about certain chests and
even barrels things do go missing...

Hey marcus. You sound like the worlds loudest thief. I keep getting this
surreal picture, of a thief dressed like a one man bad.. If i remember
rightly, early on in the game. In Bruma i creep into a basement of one the

MrSpoon. Yep a lot more ! That Mithril armour looks nice, but wasn't the
toughtest. That's rich, eh, coming from me, runnning around in an Apron
for a half of the game..! Yeah, i had a glass dagger for a good while. Till
i found a frost sword, called chillrend, works great in oblivion gates with
all that heat..

What's the secret to being a successful pickpocket then? most times, the person either wakes up or turns around and catches me.

Luck, only joking, even though it does helps ! I'd usually only have to break
into houses and steal or kill. It's was only the odd time i had to pickpocket
someone. By the time that came, my sneak was up to over 50. Plus, i'd
always change my gear. I'd have a robe, rings and hood, to add to sneak.
Lot's of agility too. I was never a tough character in it, strength-wise. Loads
of endurance, agility and intelligence. If all else fails, leg it..!

I do hope they improve the stealth aspect of the game with a patch

Hey eastyy. A count to ten patch, eh !? Even funnier is when your totally
invisible and you walk up to someone your ment to met. He automaticaly
knows your there ! It should wait till you become visible. Or the times when
you break in, your sneaking, using chameleon or invisible. When you stand up
for a split second or reuse a spell. Go back to sneak, invisible. Then they
follow you round looking at you, even though they can't see you...

Anyone have any idea's where I can get a scroll or spell to fortify magika ? Been to most of the mages guilds now without any luck ! Have a mages guild quest which requires four spells, I have the other three but cannot find the fourth. A scroll with this spell was located in the temple where it needs to be used, but I managed to use this incorrectly and therefore waste it - DOH

Also, what spell do I need to fill up soul stones ? I have hundreds of the things but they are all empty. My uber staff has now run out of charge, and I need to get that bad boy back in action quickly and "cheaply"

i got stuck on this and its a tough one i went to every mages quild and couldent find the spell, i wasted it proably in the same way you did and its a real bind the only way i got round it was reloading an erlyer save and makeing sure i used it in the right way

Failing that i noticed after i had done this quest that some churches sell restoration magic

Bugger ! Done about 3 dungeons since I wasted the scroll, and so the earlier save ploy is not really an option. Guess I'm going to have to find religion if I'm going to get through this one - mad search of churches will commence tonight

Edit : I turned to Satan (gamefaq's) before going to church : Would seem that the spell is available from around 4 sources including according to the guide the guy that sets you the task Saying that though I'm sure I have been to one of the sources that they refer to and he did not have the spell ! Do NPC's spells for sale lists change as the game progresses or do they stay static ?

Hey Simmy. Bit late now, Fortify Magicka you can get from Raminus Polus
at the Arcane Uni, he's always at the small circular hall at the start of the
Uni. The other easier person to get it, is Edgar's discount spells in the
Imperial City..

To fill up your soul Gems, you need soul trap spell or staff/weapon. Cast
use it on someone before it/he dies and you collect their soul. There are
sizes though. As in Rat=small gem, big monster/enemies=greater/grand.
Black Soul-gems for people..

Skeleton Key, you mean the unbreakable one ? If so, i mentioned it back
a couple of pages...you need to find....

the Nocturnal Daedric shine. If you do the miniquest from there. You will
get the imfamous unbreakable lockpick. The shrine is north, north east of
Leyawiin, go out of the northeast Leyawiin gate following the road
northwards. If you watch your radar (compass you should see it on it as
you approach) It's just along the road east of fishmans rock. If memory
serves me correctly...

Forgot, you mention NPC's spell list, they don't change unless you buy
something off them. The biggest pain, is when you go to someone, happened
a lot in Guilds. You probably had this, everyone must have. You try to buy
something, just because it's a certain time or they're in a different room
walking around. The icon to buy won't come up only speechcraft/talk one.
So, best bet is to skip on an hour, they try it. It's as if they have business
hours...

Which creatures actually have grand souls? I know ogres have greater souls but I need some grand ones as I need 2 more chameleon items to be fully invisible and go on a major crime spree!

EDIT - And how bloody hard are Will O the Wisps? If there is more than one I'm dead!

Which creatures, do you mean contain a Grand soul ? If so, your talking
Minotaur lord, Xivilai and those Lich(s), there are some others...

Chameleon is really handy, the one thing that put me off. Was i couldn't
see my hands when using my bow . I had a good few rings with
chameleon abilty. Funny, With a ok spell of it i had, they all added up
to 98%. Which ment the odd animal/monster stilll saw me ! I guess they
could still see an ear or something....

Will 'o' the Wisps are annoying, they dissapear and reapear as they come
for you. The real pain, is they absord willpower and magicka ! The best
thing is to keep distance, bit obvious i know. If i saw one i'd blow it away
with two maybe three fireballs. It doesn't like fire. If you have a detect life
spell/item/ring that can help, if you find them hard to spot when moving.
If it gets close they're like those gloom wraiths. Make sure your weapon is
magical or at least silver or daedric... Mentioned this a load of times, but
the best spell in the game for me is invisibilty ! If they're coming for you
cast that move away, blast with magicka (fireball!). The other thing that
usually caused me a bit of trouble is, you'd have a spriggan near, casting
a bear or two..!

Will O the Wisps : Easy, just use an enchanted, Daedric and or Silver weapon on them, death quickly comes to visit them. And stay for the weekend.

Thanks for all the info wonderboy, I hit a bit of a levelling wall last night though : Bought the fortify magicka spell from Raminus Polus at the arcane uni only to find that my restoration skill was too low, and I therefore could not cast it. Was surprised by this as I've had a restoration spell from the start as a wood elf, and have raped that allot and my skill is still only 39, need 50 for the spell. Did pop to discount spells in the city to see if his was castable at a lower level, but it does not appear in his list

After giving up on this I decided to find the skeleton key, but once I eventually found the shrine, after being guided in on msn I found that my guy was not strong enough to take on the quest, but got no indication of what attributes I needed to increase. Guessing it again is my lowelly levels - still a level 8

Finally decided I'd try and get a soul spell and fill some of my soul stones, but then I realised I'd dumped all of the stones I'd collected from the start of the game a couple of days ago, to enable me to pick up a new claymore. Gave up on the game at this point, a little frustrated ft:
