Aye, that?s a pitty. It would have been great if there was a possibility to add other sports cars... but I guess that?s because of the console/arcade heritage.

Just out of curiosity, how many polygons do the player cars have on average?

Look like it's finally being released in Japan. PS2 only though.

I think it says GT FORCE and PRO wheels work in the Japanese version. Also there is a Limited Edition which will come with a soundtrack CD. Out this winter.

Hi guys! Happy New Year, it's been a while

Just wanted to let you know I've been playing the PC version of C2C and here are my thoughts:

I just played several hours of C2C at work with my Namco NeGcon controller on my laptop. This particular controller works beautifully via a psx>pc adaptor on most racing games for the PC. But after playing C2C, the more I play it the more I have to come to the conclusion that the controller support for this version is just GOD AWFUL! I mean seriously, first my wheel, now my NeGcon. The damn controller configuration menu is severely....and I mean SEVERELY screwed up. Why in the bloody he|| can't I UNASSIGN an axis if I want to? Why, if I assign accelerate/brake to Y, the gear and menu axis gets assign to Z? Why on earth is there a menu and gear axis IN THE FIRST PLACE? This is causing me all kinds of headaches. Sometimes the game crashes at the start of the race because apparently there's a conflict with an axis somewhere. Utterly ridiculous. Sol, please tell me there's a way to unassign the axis I don't want used!!!!

Then we have the horrible analog control. Like VR says, the deazone is outrageous! I gotta twist my NeGcon like 15 degrees before the car starts to turn LOLOL! It's not only that though, the behavior of the car is just....I dunno...wierd! It doesn't have the silky smooth steering response like it did when using the Fanatec wheel on the Xbox version. Sol, it appears the guys who worked on the PC version did not take any notes whatsoever from the guys on the Xbox version to make sure the analog steering in the PC version is proper. It's like the first 30 or so degrees of turning has proper analog steering, and then the remaining analog steering becomes way to senitive and causes the car to oversteer and go in the guard rail. Very very VERY dissapointing! Suffice to say Flagman has signed a petition to have my license revoked after so many guard rail kisses LOL!

I'm sorry to say, but the PC version of Coast to Coast is a port that should be played mainly to look at the pretty graphics for a few minutes and thats it. I honestly can't believe how much better the Xbos version playes. The deadzone and funky analog steering is a major turn off. and I am worried that even with a good amount of practice I won't be able to get through Goat 2 Coast mode no matter what controller I use

Do you all agree that the Xbox version of C2C has far better analog steering control than the PC verision. I'd go back to the Xbox version if only it weren't for those nasty bugs like when the view switches to the road being all in your face at the wrong angle, and when you hit the guard rail your car comes to a VERY distracting and abrubt halt right to the middle of the road. Has your copy of the Xbox version ever done this?

        *UPDATE*

I'm going to try playing with my Xbox 360 gamepad. I downloaded the XBCD drivers but for some reason it doesn't recognize the analog triggers on my 360 gamepad as analog axis, only digital buttons. Do you guys know where I can grab the proper drivers that will let me use my 360 triggers as...well...analog triggers?

I've had no problems with playing the PC version tbh.

As for the drivers, it's worth noting that the actual controller configuration on the XBCD drivers is broken (as they're designed for XBox1 controller) and gives incorrect button readouts. I've been fine with leaving them on default, and configuring them in game and they work okay.

But you could download the official drivers from the Microsoft website, or Windows Update, and see if they give better luck.

Interesting. How far have you actually gotten in Coast 2 Coast mode on the pc version? And can I get you to atleast admit that the analog steering is not as good as the XB version?

New budget PC release or phantom?

The PC release seems to be deleted now, but Amazon list a budget re-issue that should have happened last Friday. But my pre-order hasn't shipped yet. I haven't found any other retailers even listing this.

Does anyone know if this release is real or just a phantom entry in the Amazon database?

                Budget re-issue? Hmm, interesting....

One of these Id guess... All sega PC games seem to get re-issued like this.

Well I found the budget release on its publisher's website:

but no sign of Amazon shipping it to me. But this gave me the confidence to just wait it out.

Budget Release - it'll be on Steam next...

Oh wait, it is (well if you live in the States).

BTW - on one of the previous pages the Japanese PS2 version was mentioned, which does support the Logitech Wheel, force feedback and all. There's no online play though (which is why we could do it for the Japanese version).

Saw the budget PC release of this in Asda for 7 quid by the way.

The only version to be released in Japan will be the PS2 one.

No PSP or Xbox version I'm afraid. Also means there is no link-up - since there isn't a Japanese PSP version to link it up too.

                            Sorry about that

Amazon finally sent my budget re-issue, it works nicely with my Driving Force Pro, and lack of force feedback aside it is even more awesome than I was expecting. I suspect my PSP version isn't going to be seeing so much action from now on But now I realise I'm going to have to get a PS2 version as well for continued wheel support, seeing as the PC platform is ever-moving, and one cannot rely on a PC game to still work in a few years time.

I guess I'll get the US version as its all I've got hardware to play. Force-feedback surely isn't so compelling as to justify buying a Japanese PS2 to run it?

So you're not bothered by the deadzone?

When is the exact release date of the Japanese PS2 version? I've got mine pre-ordered and simply can't wait to try my wheel with it.
