I actually really enjoyed the demo and if i had enough money i'd definitely pick this up.Really nice production values, and that music is superb.
Nah sorry if this game was aweome , everyone be siging Miziguchii Praises , He produced the game, picked the team to program it ect so he's just as much to blame as Phantagram.
Music is ace, but give me the far Superior Kingdom's series onthe X-Box anyday of the week

I thought the demo was great, but never got past a certain bit. Its just too tough for me. Without checkpoints, you either have to have the patience of a saint or the skills of a genre veteran. Having neither, it'll be a waste of money.

If there were checkpoints I'd snap it up.

        i'd actually say blame microsoft

judging by phantagram's other titles it seems like MS probably rushed it out for their japanese war effort

I've read Mizuguchi had fairly little to do with this, in real terms. Exec producer, like.

I still fancy this, but it'd have to be <?25.

US version is region free - so will cost you ?30 from vg+

Dynasty Warriors isn't ****, neither is it's camera, and hasn't been for 7 years.
Well thought out argument as to why it's better than N3 .... though I would argue back that the superior draw distance, and user manageable camera in N3 (in which you can find a good playable view at most points) makes point 2 of your debate null and void, and since N3 isn't **** I guess we are now struggling to see any point you actually make.

the eurogamer review seems to sum up my EXACT thoughts on this game.

Right got my NTSC version through the post this morning and it seems as if some things have changed from the demo, sadly you can no longer run about a level and gather up every creature in it for one gigantic battle that causes hideous slowdown, instead they have put up barriers between objectives. They appear to have made the game harder with not as many "good" item drops as were in the demo, plus you have to take on the demo level at a lower level (well for Inphyy). The Troll from the demo has a few new moves including picking up a large log that will pretty much kill you in one hit, which Ill admit was kinda annoying, but when I replayed the level I found so much stuff that I had missed, such as really cool ways to trigger traps giving a combo count in the 1000's.

I also like the way they have locked out the other characters, not sure how to unlock them yet, and I really hope that the other characters have different campaigns from Inphyy and Asphar, If they take place on the same maps with "different" stories then I will be quite disappointed.

If you can look past its flaws, then there is a really cool game here that makes a change from FPS and racing games. If you played the demo once and didnt like it (like me) give it another shot, and for those who found the demo hard learn to block the troll or you will get hammered and learn the right times to use your special attacks

i'm on tyurru (i think her name is) now

she's my last character before the secret one and her campaign is hard

i won't spoil it for you but her attacks are unlike anyone else's

one thing to remember, if you find a mission difficult (the forest for inphyy and aspharr spring to mind) go back and replay the other missions in the campaign again. this adds to your XP and the better you do missions the better rewards you get for a good grade

bit annoying that you have to do that but i'm still enjoying it

I've been really enjoying it and thought I was well on my way to getting A rank on all levels, I even got S!

Then I had to fight 2 boss people in a row, boss people who block constantly and barely let you hit them. Bastards

I love this, its a great game to just load up and have some mindless fun. Its the sort of game i'd just play for an hour ever so often.

I just get a great buzz out of the scale of the battles and the sheer amount of stuff on screen at the same time, some of the combos look amazing and it great laying waste to hundreds of enemies.

Yeah the games got its flaws, the voice dub is terrible as is the lip sync. Other annoying lthings like on one occasion I just used a uber combo then the game switched to a cut scene, when it finished the cut scene the combo was cancelled lol.

Music is really good and some of it really compliments the action on screen. Graphics, I think are impressive when you consider how much is on screen at the same time. Yes there is some slow-down now and then, but it not enough to distract from the action. The no check point thing can be a pain, but I really dont mind ploughing through the level again if I fail anyway.

I think there is alot of potential for a truly stunning game here, they just need to take on-board peoples complaints about this first game and then I think it could be something very special.

just a word of warning to anyone playing and intending to get to the secret level

save each of your characters to a different save slot. i have saved them over the top of each other and now i have to redo all of inphyy's levels

to unlock the special stage you must complete every character including the secret one then go back and replay inphyy's first level. after that you can select the secret (and hardest apparently) level

the only thing is, i've been through the game with every character saving over the same save slot and now i go back to inphyy and she's level f**king 1 and i can see the secret mission on the map screen but can't select it.

this means i'm going to need to go through her missions again to get to it. you also need to be lvl 9 to beat the level so it means playing pholya flatlands a lot of times to level.

                        FFS

why couldn't the save system work like every other game?

Yep, it is a pit archaic to have a game with save slots, it pisses me off in general when gameshave them, especially when it is a game that only saves the level you have beaten and the score.

oh and i just checked the strat guide, if you want the secret mission

make sure you pick to go to varvazzar or whatever it's called when you get the choice with aspharr

                            apparently

I'm stuck on one of myifee's tossing missions, pholoya fields. It is a bastard, I get to the troll and get mince by the next wave of enemies

Just got this a few days ago, really enjoying it so far. Too bad it's a little rough around the edges, especially the cutscenes interrupting my combos are irritating, usually get hit the instant the scene ends too .
