Anyone know if/when the NTSC-J Asian version comes out?
I've noticed on PlayAsia that the Japanese version isnt region free but someone in this thread already mentioned that the PAL version appears to be. If there is an Asian version due shortly it means I effectively pay half price for this compared to the stupid RRP prices here in Australia.
Anyone know?

Hey Mark.
Yeh I now refuse to pay $100-120 for a game and always check if a game is region free here at NTSC-UK, Playasia and Videogamesplus before making a final decision on where to buy from.
So far I've bought 8 Xbox 360 titles and only one of them was full price (Oblivion CE).
It pays to shop around. For Chromehounds the only issue is I cannot find any release date for Asia so I hope its actually going to get a release there or I will be very upset.
Edit: Well the US version is also region free (VG+ have confirmed it) and as the PAL version is as well all we need now is an Asian region release date.

Good news it's free, but sounds like they'd originally planned on charging for it - and just how much are 2 guns, 1 ammo, and 1 colour pattern worth? Because I wouldn't pay for them. If they released a pack for say 800 points, with 40 new weapons, then I'd probably get it.
Still, even then I'd like to see different kind of weapons instead of variations. Or some outlandish legs, something different.

Having spent a bit of time bolting bits onto my soilder hound 'TheWickerMech' I went right into On-line play joining a small team of Rookies - who started laughing saying "look at the new guys crazy mech". That didn't fill me with confidence and discovering I was a different colour to teh rest of my team was only ever gonna end in trouble. "When did you start playing the game", I said "About 5 minutes ago".
I've got a huge cannon on the side of my lanky fourlegged baby and started sending shells over a hill at the enemy much to the pleasure of my new friends. After a bit of time they had raced ahead of me and soon I was hearing "Hey friendly fire, Spags you shooting me?", at this point I had no idea who was who and had to wait until I was attacked before feeling it was safe to reply with my weak shotgun. Destruction followed and I was suddenly tiny running around on foot.
Not sure if I like this game yet or not..Gonna get some single player practice under my belt and then get stuck back in if they let me

CAN$70 + postage is still way cheaper than the AUS$110 that every australian store will ask for it. I might have to pick up MotoGP 06 at the same time.
The australian 360 game prices are just appalling. I actually LOL'd in the store when I saw that there were 360 games with $120 price tags on them. Maybe if they were special editions with art books, guides, posters, keyrings and something other than a game disc and a manual. Otherwise it's a total joke.
I have 3 games for the 360 (and I'm desperate for more, because for a high end PC gamer the 360 game collection is pretty awful at the moment). One was 50% off at EB, the other was picked up sealed on Ebay for $50 off RRP and the third was bought in store for full price. It physically hurts to hand over $110 for a game. I remember when $90 for a new PC game was ridiculous.

I agree Mark.
I refuse to pay aussie prices at the moment for the same reasons. Thankfully region free games on Xbox 360 seem to be more prevalent than on the original Xbox which is great news for importing.
I'm currently watching a few US/PAL Chromehounds auctions on Ebay with a view to picking up a copy around the $60-70AU mark which is nearly half price compared to the RRP here.
I have MotoGP '06 mate, its not bad, good thread on it on this forum. I have a non-retail promo copy though because I get the odd free game here and there for review purposes. The Asian copy of that is region free as well so its only $54 from PlayAsia.
