I think I've let too many scoops go whilst concentrating on the main case. I've hardly encountered a single psychopath that I didn't HAVE to...missed Adam, haven't found the gun shop yet.

This is definitely going to require LOTS of playthroughs since I keep getting to an area but don't have time to explore it. Wonderland plaza seems pointless because there really aren't many shops worth visiting.

Not explored the food court hardly at all...entrance plaza even less and a little bit of the North plaza but so little that I didn't even find the gun shop...though the sword shop is a favourite of mine, right next to the supermarket so I can stock on 5 swords and 3 orange juices and go loco on the scum.

I'm still not quite feeling this though, in that it hasn't clicked and it feels like I'm being rushed through the experience in a similar way to New Super Mario Bros. The density of Zombies at times can become annoying because you just don't feel like killing 100 of them, you just want to explore. Exploration is difficult sometimes because of the sheer vastness of them in tight corridors. I imagine on my second playthrough I'll feel the game a lot more, but the desperation I had to get hold of this game really hasn't had me at working thinking "Can't wait to get home to play it"...right now I could be playing it but I've played it for 1 hour and now watching the footy instead. I just don't know what it is that is stopping it grabbing me...I definitely think it might be a second playthrough needed and say "**** the story".

The boss encounters so far are NOT enjoyable! They range from too easy to really irritating. The first Carlito encounter is piss easy...the

      isabella motorbike

encounter was really annoying and took 3 times due to it being obvious that shooting was the way to go, but
doesn't give you much chance to do it and gets stuck underneath you or something.

Have to say I'd almost had enough of Overtime mode before tonight, I foolishly didn't save it upon continuing from the 72 hour mode so I have to keep restarting with nothing & those SF guys are taking the piss.

Finally I decided that I would try it using the maintenance tunnel to get from place to place, only running into the mall to get the item from a shop & then retiring back to the ( relative ) safety of the basement. Its actually an excellent plan, I mainly stay out of the way of the SF guys, there are several vehicles to make the journey easier & I get a lot of easy PP this way. Apart from the fact that I'm currently running short on weapons, all is well. I'm currently two items away from the full set; need the magnifying glass & the coffee filters. The First Aid Kit is so easy to get if you enter through the Maintenance Entrance as you avoid all the SF guys. Not looking forward to returning to the Security Room, I've been torn to shreds each time by the never-ending stream of SF guys in there so far.

        Grrrr.

Struggling with the tme limits on the Case Files a bit, giving me no time to explore at all
Are there any shortcuts back to the security room at all? I haven't found any toilets yet to save in either, only the securty room, any pointers please... i don't want to read back through all these posts and potentially spoil something by reading something i don't want to

So I've done alot in this third attempt at the game, quickly blasted through most of the stuff up to Adam the Clown. Got his chainsaws and now triple booked them for total massacre. Up at level 21 with 8 items to hold, so carrying the three books and 2 chainsaws with space for 3 other items left over like mixed juices is perfect.

Used some Uzi's to kill the convicts and steal their jeep, had a fun ride around the park knocking over hundreds of zombs and actually used the Heavy Machine Gun to kill off the clown. Which made it a remarkably easy fight. Got some achievements for stealing the jeep and jumping 10 metres in it too! Then with 2 hours left before the next case file opening, I made a mad rush to collect the guy stuck in the North Plaza after being scared away by the shopkeeper. Skateboarded up there using the toilets for a shortcut. (Skateboarding is ace by the way, gets you around so fast and lasts for ages as long as you dont intentionally knock zombies over on it all the time. So I like to keep one of them in my inventory most of the time.) Quickly ran back and put the guy to safety just in time for the next cutscene to start to go fight Carlito and save Dr Barnaby. Carlito should be a doddle this time, with my souped up chainsaws and I'll grab some coffee creamers on the way out to make some Go Fast potion.

And I think thats about it for today. Hopefully I can manage to keep on top of the case files this time and not ruin the game and need to start again for the 4th time.

So glad I did start again though, breezed through it all again and I'm deffo getting better and its just so fun using the chainsaws too. This game is the daddy of all games.

When you defeat Adam the Clown, or if you have done already:

Go back to the rollercoaster and use the ID Card you pick up after killing him to stop the ride. Greg will then talk to you when he gets off the ride and will show you the shortcut from the ladies toilets in Wonderland to the ladies toilets in the other place which name I cant remember, the main Plaza you enter when coming out the security room. Makes it much quicker to get around and you dont have to cross the park all the time which can be dangerous with the convicts in the jeep if you havent killed them yet!

I'm near the end of the game with the same chainsaw - 2,500 kills.

I missed the hatchet man so probably missed a few survivors (explains the three dead females on meh list). The sniper bit from the demo was tricky 1st time, 2nd time it took me less than 30 seconds thanks to the AI getting stuck.

There was a glitch with the survivor AI that had me fuming earlier, it wasn't a survivor getting stuck as such. She agreed to follow me and then went back into "I'm helpless and I'm going to die" mode forcing me to restart. On top of that the mercury switch (ring of light controller) on my 360 is going haywire - I can determine its position by physically tapping the console.

I'm still unsure how I'm going to kill the hatchet dude on my next playthrough though. The timing between him and Gordon is tight.

2 more cases left... I might start again considering I was so close to a perfect game this time (only missing hatchet man), or I might just trample ahead for a couple more hours to see what other mistakes there are to be made.

So far though the game has offered nothing in terms of that bit out of RE4 where you have to fend the crazy monk guys away from Ashley whilst she winds the cranks in the castle water room - which I'm glad for as I hated that bit, it wasn't hard I just hated it, and I expected this game to be full of said moments.

                        I just completed

Overtime Mode, which I enjoyed. The boss fight at the end reminded me of Metal Gear Solid 1+2 and 3 funnily enough. Shooting out enemy tanks, then having a fist fight. Not exactly original Capcom, and not really that well done (the fist fight) tbh, especially considering how brilliant Capcom games normally are for bosses. Annnnyway, I now have Invinite Mode which should be interesting and overall I love this game to bits. Annoyances aside its an incredible piece of entertainment.

Now I am going to go back in and go for some PP photography and the magic 53k zombie kill

I never found the Mini Chainsaw. The mall is bloody huge, half the places I haven't been into and I've completed it now. Time to go back into 72hr me thinks. I only found the hardware store right near the end of play hee hee

I've abandoned the main mode - kept getting killed by the same boss over and over again.

I then instantly had more fun in an hour or so than the whole time of running after the main missions. Found loads of stuff just mooching around.

My plan is to find where some cool weapons are, level up, then restart and go back to the main mode later on.

Does anyone know if you can you still 'finish' 72 hour mode if you ditch the main missions?
