I also don't have any problems with the save system......or talking to Otis.

There are some easy accesible spots where you can save. The couch where you start off in, the toilet stalls, the rug behind da hot chick in the secret hide out

Talking to Otis isn't that bad, the best thing to do is either just take your time walking, or just jump on some high ground before advancing.

Also, the only thing I dislike about the guiding A.I is when they're following you, as they usually take their time. Truth be told, the only time I enjoyed (yes, enjoyed) guiding the AI, is when you have to support/carry them.

Like when you go the contrustion part of the Mall, and you have to help support with his arm around your shoudler as he hurt his leg. It was just cool fleeing away from zombies as you help bring a guy escape from zombies.

Its not tedious unlike checking on the other survivors who run around freely, and usually get caught up.

I found as soon as I had

      killed the cultist leader

and picked up his little book, survivors became a lot easier to control. And of course, not running around hitting Y while in the middle of a pack of zombies!

I've played through it many times now and I still love it.

I'm still amazed at the things I am finding in this game.

Not really a spoiler as such.

On a visit to the Space Rider on day 3 to pick up another of Adams magic repawning mini chainsaws, I decided to see if I could have a ride on it. Waited for a car to stop jumped on and went for a ride on it. It never ever occured to me to try before. Brilliant!!!

Managed 32 acheivements so far, going for the saint at the moment looks like I might be one or two survivors short at the end.

Edit: Just finished 72hour mode again going for the saint acheivement, came up a little short with 46 survivors (did get the census taker acheivement though), oh well there's always next time.

had about 8 hours game time on this so far, im level 17 and have restarted the story about 5 times im really enjoying it but the survivor ai is soooo bad, really frustrating trying to escort them, was funny when a fat guy i was escorting along with others got swamped with zombies and when he died there was a cutscene of him turning into one, nice touch i thought.

            OK... I'm Level 25 and I've had a total of 2 re-starts...

I'm sooooo bloody stuck here (only read if past or on day 2)...

How the hell am I supposed to rescue Gordon (the coward who you have to beat with a cardboard box) AND take on that Vietnam machete vet at the same time? It's impossible!

I think I have everybody rescued up to that point, around 16 survivors.

The survivor AI does get pretty horrendous. One time I was escorting someone and they got stuck in the water and wouldn't move whatever I tried so I had to reload.

Another question... Am I right in noticing that you only get PP for saving one survivor at a time? If I save two or three at once I only seem to get the PP for one rescue. I've actually gotten into a habit of only taking one survivor with me through the duct at once.

            ------------

Also, after killing Adam the Clown make sure to pick up his chainsaws AS WELL as the engineering, criminal + entertainment books. They will last you forever as the bonus triples up. One respawns on the ride when you eventually run out too. These are the only melee weapons I carry now.

If Capcom had set the Case Files out like Chapters that you could return to (instead of having to go back to the start of the game each time) this game would be amazing. So far I've only played through Case File 1 and made many attempts to rescue survivors with varying degrees of success.

Best things so far are the

zombie lift, using saw blades, the drill and just going hand to hand

. The combat is brilliant - I've levelled Frank up to 14 I think (just got the

              Football Tackle skill

. Gonna start it again tonight and make sure I save David (managed to do it but after the case had failed - just had to get that brer to the security room) >_< Then will start working my way through the rest of the cases.

Anybody got any advice on how to handle

Carlito when he is going Sniper on me and Brad? I was chasing him around with a hockeystick but he kept dropping sneaky grenades behind him!

Whatever comes to hand really, I prefer to go and get a weapon suitable for the job but its so time consuming. How do you keep hold of weapons >_< I get through them so quickly!

It's a cheap mechanic, and a very frustrating one, but it sure has worked in creating the right atmosphere.

Special mention to the acting too - not only the excellent voice acting, but the motion capture, which for once wasn't completely over done.
Yeah, the same atmosphere can be found on Resi 2 when you try a speed run without saves or first aid sprays, or the pimped guns (the only way to play Resi ) which is why you're doing the speed run in the 1st place - The only thing missing here is the nice music.

I agree totally on the acting. Frank has a real Kurt Russell vibe going on. Excellent stuff. "I'd rather have an explanation rather than your thanks, Brad" - that bit cracks me up everytime.

I tend to keep one for boss use in reserve and use something like a katana as the main melee weapon.

You got access to Adam's Chainsaw yet?

Yeah, do they respawn by the ride? I've started to just use hand to hand combat skills instead of the weapons so maybe I should tool up and only use them when the **** goes down or on a boss encounter. Going be tough though as I love getting stuck in. Had many annoying moments when I've been hitting a group with a plank for it to run out and then switch to the Queen Bee without me realising = total waste

With the Books, do you just read them once and then throw them away or am I meant to keep them with me?

That's what I beat Sniping Carlito with. Remember to use quickstep (orange + coffee creamer) and also remember the shortcut through the ladies toilets, that saves crossing the park.

I think you have to keep the books with you to be able to use their effects.

As for Carlito the second time when he's sniping,

get yourself the Quickstep drink ( 2 x coffee creamers ) & the Katana & chase his ass down. You'll make short work of him as the speed increase means he can't escape you in order to drop the grenades, he may knock you down a couple of times with the butt of his gun but that's all.

Mixing drinks??? How do you do that? Is that in the food court somewhere, seem to remember some mention about blenders...?

Yes, you need to keep onto the books as you'll see a bonus book icon over any items in effect. Nothing better than seeing three little pink books over your chainsaws.

Well worth the 5 slots considering they practically last forever.
