Thanks, and thanks again for the book tip. My frequent trips to wonderland plaza for replacement saws turned into rather infrequent trips. I'm sure that it made a huge difference to the time I had to complete the tasks.

If there's ever a Dead Rising 2 I would love to see a co-op mode.

    I'll see you there.

Its pretty small on my big screen HD TV tbh - I often miss what is being said, probably because I'm busy dodging zombies...

A couple of letters at GC said that using RGB Scart on standard-def helps a little. You are using RGB?

Yes, in the PAL version there is a bit about saving that mentions using memory cards or multiple profiles for extra save games.

Can people who've finished the game tell me some places to explore...I'm after midnight on the last day (so you'll know my "situation" without me needing to put spoilers in) and I only just found the damn gun shop (too late to be of use) and the garden centre, but I didn't find that weapon from the videos!

So yeah, basically I want to know where to go for things to look at, not gonna get any cases but would like to explore now I have some time, not too far from north plaza.

Where is the best place to get books? I missed Adam this time around but on playthrough 2 I'm gonna ignore the cases and just get the scoops for super level-uppage.

I take the weapon your after is the excavator if you go to the point in north plaza that is cordoned off as under construction jump up onto the wooden boards and you will find it. Have fun I know I did the first time I discovered it.

                Locations to visit:

You're free to go anywhere you like in the whole mall complex

you just need to return to north plaza after the call you'll get from Isabela at 10am. Go and talk to her, she'll say to leave her and save yourself, which you should do and then kill time doing whatever you want just make sure your on the helipad by noon.

                Books:

If your looking for the books to treble charge Adam's saw go to Bachman's Bookporium in Paradise Plaza, you get the entertainment and engineering books here. Get the criminal biography book from Sir book-a-lot in wonderland plaza.

There is a survival book to boost the energy retored by health items you get this by access by completing a certain scoop, but I don't know if you have or want to know which scoop it is.

Yeah I've already got that book, very useful.

Didn't get Adam's saw but I'd presume you could use any weapon similar with the books...

If your TV has a scart socket that supports RGB definately get an official microsoft advanced scart cable the improvement is well worth the ?17.99 it costs. The image quality will become sharper as the colours bleed less and the edges of the text should become more defined.

Can't believe the situation with the saves, that's pretty unforgivable in this day and age.

I've come to terms with the save situation now... there's a toilet in each section of the mall pretty much, so there's always somewhere to save, you just have to get there!

I just started the game again today, met the Clown for the first time, managed to save a couple of people, but on Day 2, just after the

2nd battle with Carlos, he killed me the first time, went back to my save point and tried again, but this time left it to the Black bloke to battle it out with him for a while at least... This resulted in the cut scene of Carlos jumping off the balcony

shortly after, mere seconds IIRC, I was told

it was all over and the case files were unobtainable

... given the choice to continue or go back to the last save point (IIRC)... I decided to continue, but I can see it's still gonna be a while before I get my head around the time-limits of this game.... There's a lot to remember to do, keep an eye on the time and rescuing the people too. *phew*

I bought this a few days ago, and its going back tomorrow. For me the game has no atmosphere at all. The AI is terrible and makes the game frustrating, also the save system is a chore. I get sick of having to redo all the same **** everytime I die, the same loads etc.

A totally missed opportunity, it could have been so much better.

With toilets in every section of the mall, at the security office & the optional save everytime you complete a Case file, I can't really see what more Capcom could have done.

Especially when you take into account the concept of the game, the main game is only about 8 hours long ( if that ) & is meant to be played through numerous times in order to see it all & do everything.

Personally I think the save system compliments the rest of the game, rather than hindering it but that's just my two cents.

Great minds think alike. The astmpshere, tension and difficulty would be ruined if you could have a save anywhere system. And as you said, its not exactly hard to find a place to save.
