Mike was right on Capcom more or less admitting there is a flaw. You'd think it was deliberate, but in the manual it advises ways to get around it.

Did anyone notice on the UK packaging the disclaimer something along the lines of:

This game has not been developed or is not accosiated with Geoge A. Romero or anyone else.

      Made me smile.

To be fair it does make me very anxious when I have 1 health, no food and know that the nearest is a good hundred-odd zombies away. Knowing what's at stake I find my butt cheeks firmly clenched at these points.

I can see a LOT of people putting pads out windows because of this game !

I'm starting to get used to the whole system now to be honest, you've just got to approach the game differently to what naturally comes.

I've started started again with my level 16 Frank (in a white suit), hopefully things go a little better this time

I stopped playing last night after losing 40 minutes worth of progress. I don't have the patience some of you have any more for games that (in my opinion) unfairly punish the player.

I'll give it another go later today. Like I mentioned, I want to like Dead Rising but the days of me repeating things 100 times in single-player adventure games that aren't shooters/racers/fighters waiting to tear my hair out are long over.

I notice my killcount has reset...does that mean I need to get another 10000 kills for the 10000 kill achivement or does the first 2000 already count?

Not played this yet but am I right in thinking that by restarting and saving your stats each time is a bit like DMC3? Could you not cane the first section over and ever improving your skills and stats until you feel ready to take on the proper manz you gonna meet later in the game?

Oh yes, you have to do it one single run, you can't say get the 53,000 achievement over the course of 3 different runs.

Just to expand on that, if you look at the achievements (even before they're unlocked) you can see whether they need to be done in total or 1 playthrough.

I'm like that, yet for some reason with Dead Rising, I still find it strangely compulsive to carry on playing.

Same for me. I lost so much time due to the save system but still I kept coming back.

It *is* an excellent Capcom game (Capcom through and through), it's just one with a few flaws.

I'm in that club too - Normally after about the 3rd time I'd have resigned myself to the fact it had to go but with this one I'm compelled to keep trying - It's the overall quality I think - Given their quality who wouldn't want to see more cut-scenes ???
