Keep plugging away at it. It's an incredibly frustrating game - I've just had to take a break from it after throwing my controller down (onto my bed, I'm not gonna break it! ) in annoyance at one of the bosses (the
) but I know if I keep trying it, it will be easy enough to get past.

The bosses (and the game in general) does become a lot easier if you take the time to level up before trying to complete the storyline.

It really is the best way to play it.

I managed to get a couple of hours worth of play in without it crashing. I've got to say this is some proper next-gen ****, the amount happening on screen is truely amazing and makes for some truely panic ridden moments. There was one moment earlier where I was trying to get back to the security room, I entered the corridor that leads there and I saw a couple of zombies ahead standing over the bodies of two security guards. No problem, I dispatched the zombies with my bread knife and picked up the security guards guns, I then ran around the corner and was greeted by a hundred or so zombies crammed into the narrow corridor! I've never seen anything like it. I unloaded the guns into the crowd and took a few of them out, and then took down a few more with the bread knife until it broke. I ran back out of the corridor to go find a new weapon and when I returned the two security guards where getting up off the floor...zombified! Talk about attention to continuity! I guess I'm so used to enemies respawning and bodies disappearing when you leave a room, I just wasn't expecting it.

I'm a little way further now also, though I've not seen half the stuff you lot are finding!

I think the greatest achievement in this game is not the obvious number of enemies on screen (which is amazing), but the twisted and demented characters they've created. Some of them feel straight out of an OTT Silent Hill. The cutscenes and introduction (and indeed outros!) to each boss is really quite impressive. It's a very light hearted game but it occasionally throws in something so warped that it has great impact.

I am warming to this game more and more - I'm starting to understand the system and friendly AI more now so can work with them rather than hammering the Y button (to call them near me) while charging through the hordes of zombies and getting frustrated at their stupidity.

The game is not perfect, but it isn't broken either.

God, I shat my pants when

the lights first went. I remember thinking "No! The zombs have cut the power!!!" Then I realized it was the Malls timer function. I ****ing love it when it's dark though. There's nothing better than the fear of shadow lurking zombies. (^_^)

Also, gotta LOL at all the hair pulling regarding the save system. Honestly people, once your levelled nicely and Frank can sprint like the wind, you can make them all important cases in no time. Plus I genuinely feel it ADDS to the feel of the game. Survival and all.

            And regarding the

            maintenance key

everyone seems desperate for, it aint that helpful, and I'd say it's a higher risk down there. Like bleeders said, get

the first boss sorted at Wonderland, and hand out them weapons!!

I got a good run going now on this myself (regarding survivors). I've played 72 hour mode fully 9 times now and I still aint bored.

What happens when you complete it the first time? I know you get to play through it again with your current stats, but does it give you more time to play as well?

I've played it up to the end of day 2 now and I love it. I think it's a fantastic game.

Depends on the ending, but you can carrying on playing if you unlock Overtime Mode.

After that there's Infinity mode which lets you play up to seven days (in game time which is something like 12-14 hours real time) but with no save and your health runs down constantly.

OMFG has anyone watched the attract sequence? I did n't think there was one but you have to leave it for a while - it is excellent!

Yeah saw it yesterday, I didn't think there was one either. It's good they created a seperate cut-scene rather than just piecing together some gameplay footage with a heavy metal track playing over the top.

Just started playing this, loving it until i died and went right back to the first save i made at the start of the game!

Switched it off right away, bloody saves!!

How long do you need to leave it for the attract mode, for me it just keeps showing Zombies walking toward the mall. Is it the video that was available online with a mother and daughter?

I played this a bit more last night with my TV set to brightness 100/100 which made it playable at night. It's NAILS at night though, I managed to save someone from North Plaza (it was closest to Paradise Plaza) without the Con mother****ers killing us both. The annoying thing about this game is the AI for the human characters. Kent was trying to get me to take photos of him but I had another survivor with me, he decided to flying kick her dead...I was right near the bastard warehouse door when he did this much to my annoyance...so I went loco on him taking half his health out before I saw reason...stupid pointy haired twat.

There was another mission to save these two guys barricaded in, and when I went in the arsehole started beating me with a baseball bat...nothing I could do would stop him! I read online that you have to beat him a little to calm him down...how on earth would I know that so early in the game? Things like that seem a little silly.

I don't find the game overly difficult to be honest, only died a few times...a boss once and the rest were the cons in the park...that bit does seem rather unfair. I've tried going round the shadows/walls but they just randomly will find you and kill you quickly. Is there a way to kill them easily this early in the game? It does make it frustrating to keep dying there as it's the only way to get to another area, to explore...otherwise you're stuck in the demo area.

Got to Case 2-3 (I think) in the supermarket and got my ass handed to me, wasn't aware he had a
...and the timing on that mission seemed harsh too!

Can you give weapons to anyone, I only ever seem to get the option to "carry" or to "offer shoulder" or "give food"...I've never once had the option to give a weapon, or is there a button? I read the manual again and there is no mention of that at all!

Still loving this game, craving it right now but it's my wifes birthday so I have to be a good boy...but there's some zombies that are screaming out for a chainsaw in the balls.

                                Yep it's that one.

You have to leave it a while before it starts
