I got this on Saturday and to be honest I don't really know what I should be doing. The saving is nuts. I keep dying, and then having to start again from the very start. It's well annoying. Perhaps it hasn't clicked yet, but is there some way that I should be playing? I'm at level 10 currently. I've managed to finish the 1st case once. Are you supposed to finish 72hr mode in one sitting? After saving when I die I only seem to keep my stats. None of the people I've saved are "saved" I have to save them again.
I'm really trying to like this game, but I find it really frustrating. I considered taking it back and everything yesterday. I'm getting so bored of seeing the same thing over and over.

Stick with it J0e. I was pretty much the same. Got to about lvl 10 before I did one run through failing the main case. By then you'll be at peace with the quirks of the system.
Start the main story at about lvl 35 ish, you'll max out and should be able to enjoy the main story and lots of side quests! Once you play it how Capcom want you to play it it will seem rosy and good again.

EDIT: Whenever you die don't choose save and quit or it will just save and quit. Arguably you only see the justification for this system later in the game and to start it can be annoying. Try and think of it as old school.

Quick question for those who have done it:

With the photographing of the pychos do they have to be alive when you take their pics? Or can you kill them, then take their photo and that counts?

Also for the killing 10 psycho achievement, does Paul have to die to be counted or just beaten

Basically can you put him out and save him?

        Thanks

But can I save say halfway through a game and then pick up my progress later? If not then I'm gonna have to take it back as I only really get 2hrs max to game at a time nowadays once everyone has gone to bed. If it needs to be done in one sitting, i'll never see the end.

Yes you can. It does not need to be one sitting, its just you can only have one game going at one time.
Save and quit will allow you to pick up from where you left off.

Friction, they have to be alive. Same with survivors.

Right nice one. When I die I've been choosing save and quit instead of load in hope that my progress will be saved, yet I find myself having to repeatedly save that old couple at the beginning etc. Perhaps I should hit load and then it will load from where I last saved? That's it, I'm gonna sit down tonight and try and work this bugger out. I refuse to be made a fool out of by some er...disc!

Started my proper Case File run through last night and its going very well so far. Got to say using the 'Way Pointer' is making things so much easier - also tooled up the Japanese Tourists with Handguns and they held their own very well considering we battled through heaps of Zombies in the wrong direction for a good while >_< I even managed to give one of them some OJ to pick his health back up. Great fun rolling with a group after spending so long running around on my lonesome

For peeps who have the Stunt Car achievement

for jumping a car a certain distance

I spent a while racing around the park but couldn't get any air - where is the jump for this?

Spags, try the park and more specifically some water.

There is a place in the park mate, if you look near one of the ponds there is a lip as it were (like a mini hill) if you go as fast as you can over that, you should get the achievement. Might take a couple of tries, but it can be done - that's how I did it!

I just crashed it into a shallow pond in frustration and got the achievment!

Just out of interest, has Dead Rising changed your view of the achievements system? I seem to recall you weren't that taken with them at first.

                              Cheers

This is the only game I've been arsed about with achievements, solely just to state that I've clocked the game proper. Not really arsed about the food one or the photo PP one. Gamerscore is worth jack-****.

If I'd finished the game first time with 50 survivors I'd have probably left it at that.

I actually wish there was a way of clearing unwanted games, as well as the score, to hide the guff I've had in my machine.

If I end up with 2,200 gamerpoints from exclusively Capcom games by the end of the year I'll be happy.
