    yeah the katana works the same, since you only really get a chance to fight him before the adam fight

    but get to close and he will throw you - often, even if you are on the other side of the counter

      Th Ultramegablaster rocks HARD. I've utterly nailed several psychopaths that were previously giving me grief (the clown, the machete nam guy, the snipers). Also breezing through the case files now,

      just rescued Isabela and taken her back to the sec room.



      I assume from the timing of case files Vs scoops that it's impossible to do both the story and rescue everyone in the same playthrough?

      Also,

      I thought it was possible to keep scoop rescuees safe if you told them to hide in the bog? I had two scoops following me when I had to meet Isabela and I was RIGHT NEXT to the warehouse ready to extract them. Didn't have time to do so though so I shoved them in the lavs to collect them later. Then they died!

        It is, if only because

        at least 3 people die in cutscenes if you follow the story.

        Yeah, that particular aspect sucks. Basically,

        as soon as you rescue someone (or perhaps as soon as you see them), their health bar becomes tied to your presence. If you zone out, the health bars of the people you left behind appear in the lower right corner of your screen and (not so) slowly deplete, regardless of the situation you left them in -- a person you left alone on the roof will die anyway if you don't come back.

          Got it, cheers. Guess I'll try to finish the story this time through (second time properly), then go for the scoops next time. Scoops would be more appealing if the AI wasn't *despicable*.

          I've been reading through this thread and I'm a little bemused as to why people have such an issue with the save system. I can only assume that folk that found it problematic only saved once every couple of hours or something. Can't say I've had a problem with it at all.

          Another thing, given the seemingly huge number of bugs/ flaws in the game, just WHY hasn't there been a patch?

            Just grabbed the genocider achievement and it didn't take as long as I thought still have 32 hours before the pick up, Frank's now around level 30.

            Taking about the psychopaths I managed to kill one of the snipers with cd's during one of my early play thus. Took absolutely ages but I was in a save place and he was stuck in a looping cycle so I just kept throwing em, it took about 3 thousand to kill him mind.

              they will remain safe as long as you stay in that portion of the mall, when you leave that bit of the mall their health depletes a little, but you dont have to have any survivors for that to happen on a couple of ocassions i've ran through the mall to do other scoops and when i've got back the people were dead even though i only ran pass their location

              1/ molotov guy - ran pass the store to get gill from the food court, by the time i got back the girls were either on hardly any health or died on my way getting to them

              2/ above the law - ran on a different level to the clothing store various times to do other stuff and even though the mission was still in the blue, there was only 1 girl left to rescue



              if you want to do another mission just avoid that bit of the mall until you are ready to do that mission

                I've done all the cases and the special ops ****ers are on site and getting slain by my mighty machete. Thing is though, I rescued some scoop bitch who had been bitten and subsequently asked me to bring her a gun... which I did. Now of course Jessie has become a zomb. Was this anything to do with the bint I rescued?



                Also


                Is there anything to do for the remaining 9 hours, or just piss about killing things?

                  nah - simone ravendark is just one of the other missions (fullfillments) that earns you extra pp points - if you finish the case files Jessica will become a zombie because the doctor was the one that bit her in a cut scene prior to casefile 4 or 5 before Brad shot him (watch the videos young man), remember to photo Snuff shot J - before you kill her for an easy achievement

                  thats you done until about 10am when isabella will call you to meet with her, just make sure you meet her as this will get you overtime when you eventually finish the game. in the meantime stay by a healthy food source/save room and earn yourself loads of pp points by killing loads of special forces (5000 a kill) or pop down to the maintenance tunnels (no special forces) and kill loads of zombies for loads of pp points

                    Nope, the story just goes like that. If you get back to the security room pronto after that particular cutscene (which also empties the room as your rescuees steal a chopper and escape) triggers, you'll find zombie Jessie still there -- take a picture of her for an achievement.

                    You have 7 hours to spend doing whatever you want. I recommend farming special ops soldiers in the warehouse, as they're worth 50K each and not that hard to kill (small chainsaw, machete or katana for massive damage -- and once you've killed one, you get a machine gun that's a rather neat ranged weapon). You can also unlock some achievements: kill 10 spec ops soldiers, fire 1000 bullets...

                    Now is also a perfect time to do the "don't miss with a machine gun" one: since the soldiers' assault rifles are classified as machine guns by the game, you can take one, bring it to the meat processing area (where you fought the butcher) and empty it on one of the hanging pieces of meat. Voil?, achievement unlocked.

                    When you've got about 2 hours left on the timer, something will happen. Have a skateboard ready.

                      pretty grim! It's opened Overtime Mode AND a Day 4 thing... Overtime I was sort of expecting, but what's this Day 4 business? Seems Isabela wants some Queen wasp things. I've got two in my inventory already but can't give them to her....

                                only works if you have no weapons and if you try and do it with zombies around you they wont be fooled for a minute or so, so make sure you cannot be attacked before using it - his face actions made me laugh
