I just want online sorted - private games can be ok but matchmaking is like going back to the early COD2 days again

Points of interest re multiplayer :

What do the little men mean in the matchmaking screen?
      a. The men on the matchmaking screen represent the number of people currently matched and the potential number that can be supported given the bandwidth available to the people currently matched.
      b. If the men are outlined that means you can have another person join that slot, and if they are shaded white then someone is in that matchmaking slot. The total of these two types are the number of people that can be in the match.
      c. As you matchmake into games and play them the Saints Row game will work to determine your current network bandwidth. It will also adjust to this in real time if you have other computers using the network bandwidth at the same time. This can cause the number of people you can support to change over time.
      d. To get the number of people you can support up to its maximum amount simply play in games and join matches.

How much bandwidth do I need to support different numbers of players
      a. Either you or someone in your match has to have enough bandwidth to support the number of players in the match. This means that even if you have a connection that only has limited bandwidth support you will still be able to match into bigger games if you connect with someone with more bandwidth. The Saints Row networking engine will find this out for you and set up the game in the best way possible.
      b. If you have 360 kilobits/sec downstream bandwidth (Many cable modems and DSL lines can support this) you will be able to support full twelve player matches. If you have at least 210kilobits/sec downstream you will be able to support eight player games.

A great system.... if it worked. Even in private games with a few people we've had just horrible lag. This would have been the first thing I would have patched, and worked on the v-syncing later on. Another few weeks and they'll be more stuff out and this'll be irrecoverable (that a word?)

Yeah I know what you mean - the pace on 360 at the moment is absurd the way people are just ripping through games then onto the next.

I'm still playing GRAW and COD2 on and off - COD2 has given me astounding value for money and I haven't even 1000 GP'd it yet !!!

It's not a lot different from Xbox Live titles on Xbox 1 though really. Only a few lasted, most came out, were the next big thing for a week then everyone reverted back the same few.

Yeah true I think it's all down to how good a job they do on the online side - With this, it's a bit bare bones I can't help thinking if they'd upped the number of modes (a lot more modes which were more in-line with the single player like Blinged Out Ride - than just deathmatch - the easy choice for a dev).

It's too stripped down - two coop missions with 1 map each, a handful of multiplayer maps - It reeks of chargeable DLC to follow.

Still, I'm as guilty of this transience as the next man so I'll shut up now

Has anyone finished the 1 player game yet? I have just got the Carnales missions to finish. I'm doing the "What Goes Up" one and it's just a total pain in the arse-any tips?

The one where you have to destroy Angelo's plane.

Try and shoot it as quick as possible, before you go round the actual airfield, because you'll only get rocketed and it increases the difficulty. It is possible to do it almost the first time you pass it and as it goes down the runway, fire a rocket into the distance.

Any news on when the pach that will fix the aspect ratio is actually going to be released? I'm fed up of playing with a character that looks like Odd Job...

"Fix for widescreen formatting issues in certain resolutions" - included in that dev post. It'll be along with all the rest, god knows when.

What's going on?.. I was bored of GTA style games, I bought Dead Rising last week, but it hasnt had much of a look in since I've been addicted to tha Row. I've been having a serious case of "ooh I wonder what's after this level?" syndrome.

A special mention needs to go to the vehicles in this game, they are excellently done.

Cheers for the reply. In the end I did it by using the AK to blow up the barrels by the guys with the rocket launchers thereby taking them out and leaving just the plane to deal with

I've finished the game now, it was a wicked ride pretty much from start to finish. I'm just going to go back and rinse some of the activities after I get some Test Drive playtime under my belt

I've enjoyed this more than I've enjoyed any GTA game since GTA3, I never thought Volition would pull off a decent GTA ripoff, but hats off to them. It doesn't out-GTA the GTA series in any way at all and admittedly lacks the charm and city feel, but it's still an awful lot of fun.

I'm looking forward to GTA4 next year and Saints Row 2

Okay I got this the other day, region free vers from Play-Asia. The packaging looks like its the USA version.
Although the game is great I think the graphics arent really up to much. Theyre not really that much of a step up from the GTA games, theres pop up occasionally & when your character moves quickly in the cut scenes or when u drive around corners I get this big choppy looking squiggle running thru the picture.

Dont think I'm slagging it off, its just I'm wondering is all this because its the USA version or because I run my 360 thru a regular TV?
