I quite like this, I didn't think I was going to, so it's a nice surprise. Although IMO, it does lack the wit and charm of the GTA series (well, Vice City anyway), this is quite good fun to play.

I find that it tends to "hold your hand" through most of it though, although personally, I quite like the GPS plotting the best route for you to get from A to B, lack of this annoyed me no end in GTA...

the absolute business - I said it was all about the live - I ended up playing almost exclusively on single player last night.

The engine runs a lot better than the demo with much less slowdown - In turn it means the cars handle much better because of the higher framerate. Some of the stuff in there is fantastic - Did some drug trafficking, hooker reconaissance, burgled some shops, took some hostages - didn't even do the "main" missions really as was way too busy with other stuff.

The physics are magic - there's a lot of laugh out loud fun to be had playing this. Held Up a big fattie in a shop last night, she cracks the safe, I grabbed the cash then gave her a boot up the ar*e which knocked her over - Gave her another couple of digs and she got up and ran - I casually followed her to kill her off and the fat b!tch rang the store alarm !!! Popped a cap in her skull for that, ran out the back door into the alley and it was just flashing red & blue from the cop lights - cops everywhere. What a bloodbath that became

Online co-op is a great laugh - two modes so far to play. Online versus is setup exactly like the Halo2 party system but you're all in a warehouse and you can run abuot shooting each other and practicing stuff between matches - host can do the matchmaking stuff or you can play privately - I think this is the first game since Halo2 to use the system - fantastic.

Except the 2 versus games I played with Cammy last night against a few other boys were lag of the highest order - really bad. I'm putting this down to it picking a poor host - Once there are more Euro players on (i.e today onwards) I expec it'll be a lot better.

Basically I could have played it SP till about 4am this morning no problem - You don't get many games like that. I want to go home right now and play some more.

I was playing the online multiplayer last night and well i got hooked on Protect the Pimp its a really addictive mode. The only prob is it uses matchmaking meaning you are generally with Americans which meant there was quite a bit of lag.

I've become really hooked to online now. I practically ignored it for the past week (partly due to few people online) but I played the Gangsta modes and it had the magic of a Halo feel but in 3rd person.

And the fact some levels have cars etc make it even better.

Just the lag ruined it for me but when it was ok it was really, really good fun.

For example the car park level - at first it seems really basic & cramped but then factor in a couple of cars and the stairwell and it changes entirely - Gonna be mayhem with 12 people playing

Should be on tonight - I believe I have an invite to Metal Thug X let's get some battles on the go.

How do you do the hitman missions? The target comes up on the HUD but it doesn't tell you where they are on the map?

I've struggled with those too, it tells you the area they are in, but the areas are huge. I was searching for that damned granny for ages before giving up and doing insurance fraud... any tips would be appreciated!

Nope - it's done by Keith David

The Arbiter in Halo 2 too and in numerous small and big budget films.

Didn't realise he was so busy. That's some CV considering it only starts 80s onwards.

Ah, always get Keith David and Avery Brooks mixed up.

EDIT - Bloody hell, didn't realise Darla from Buffy/Angel did Miranda Keyes either.

Aye that was doing my box right in - Couldn't work out where the target was and couldn't find "downtown" area which it was saying was his location ???

I take it that this can be a "side mission" and can run concurrently with another mission you are tackling ?
