I just had a look at the main web site, and got a small glimbse of some of the different moves you can get. Some of the movies show like a Drunken Kung Fu style move set, where's he's swaying back and fourth and dishing out moves from all these crazy angles, and thats prolly only one of many Martial art styles in there. I'm seriously contemplating going out and buying this ASAP.

Well, I gave up waiting and picked up a copy of this game yesterday. I figured that if I was going to buy it anyway, why bother renting it. Got home and immediately dove right into with a buddy of mine, and we must have spent a good 9-10 hours playing it right through the night. I got a lot to say, but first and foremost...WOW
The game itself is amazing, tons of fun, the combo system is flawless, the enemies are hilarious, but can be very annoying, and the difficulty is absolutely insane. Even on Easy the simplest enemies are kicking my ass, even when I got the hang of the controls, which are also perfect for the game IMO.
Overall though Im really enjoying it. The moves are pretty sick, the dodges are easy to pull off, and the fighting system is really fresh, and move cancels add a nice level of depth, and the tension gauge, when activated, PWNS so much ass that I cant even describe it. The female enemies in this game are also a nice addition, and when they smack you around a bit, there's nothing more relieving than taking the bitch over your knee and spanking the **** out of her, lol, and only a guy like Gene could pull that off.
IGN Review=Mediocre, although they did make some good points, specifically about enemies off screen getting in some cheap shots here and there, and especially bosses, which can get a little frustrating at times. But the God Hand and the Roulette wheel moves are just so much fun to pull off, and make any sort of despair or frustration melt away.
A lot of that frustration stems from lack of knowledge anyway. What I mean is that the game is ALOT like DMC in the sense that all enemies have specific attacks with sound ques attached to them, so the game tells you whats coming at you, and you just require the necessary knowledge of which sound corresponds to which attack. The same is true for all the bosses. There was one challenge where u have to walk over a icon, and a boss pops out, three icons, three bosses, not all at once though, unless u hit all 3 icons. I started with one boss, (guy with the spiked maces for hands in Saur's vid: Three Bosses), and broke down all of his attacks and audio cues, and in about 30-45 mins, could pretty much beat him without taking any damage. I remember at the beginning, DMC3 on easy kciked my ass, now I own it on DMD. Its all about practice, and affiliating yourself with the attacks and sounds.
Thx to Saur btw, even though he's not here, some of his movies helped ALOT! Especially his God Hand technique where he dashes and does the roundhouse kick, RINSE AND REPEAT!!!! Holy ****!!! thats prolly the best thing to do while God HAnded! Just Dodge and Kick, Dodge and Kick, and anything your hitting takes MASSIVE DAMAGE!!! most mini bosses die in one go.
BTW, looking forward to seeing your two-cents Venom, missed your last combo vid due to the my late arrival, but I dont plan on missing the 2nd.
Just like to add that any Circle mashing attack, be it stomping, pummeling, spanking, machine gun kicking, repeatedly snapping the neck, suplexing... is all a ton of fun, and very theraputic. Its a really good feeling stomping on some guys face who just took off a massive chunk of your life
Look forward to reading what you guys think of it, chao

My copy *finally* arrived today.
Its amazing, but I wasn't expecting anything less
Working my way through normal, just finished off the Yellow and White dudes - they gave me some hassle, but haven't hit any major hurdles yet. I do feel a bit button mash-y still though, so gonna take an hour off now to take another look at some of Saur's vids, then jumping right back in

Amazing scenes
Elvis went down on my second try, which was cool, although I was really fighting to hold on to my last scrap of life. Starting to get the hang of the combo system now too, although I still haven't managed to get up to Level 3, let alone Level Die. Mixing together those uppercuts and roundhouses is sooo satisfying
How do you do those laucher scissor kicks? The ones where Jean raises his leg almost vertical, then brings it straight down - I've done a few by accident, but can't work out how.

Just beat this 2nite on easy. Dam, enemies kick your ass on the last lvl. Was on lvl 2 most of the time, and even with a massive health bar, and I mean MASSIVE, it would still only take like 4-5 hits to kill me. The ending of the game is sick, cant spoil it for you, you'll have to see for yourself. Great game though, gonna go through again on norm on DIE all the way thru.
Once u beat it, u get the ability to save your game, and then you start over, fresh...from scratch....with nothing.... which sucks!!!! although they do give you an extra roulette orb, which is handy. Plus, all the challeneges are available from the get go, and challenges 41-50 are unlocked. Plus, all moves originally unlocked are available from the start, and can be purchased once u have enough money, and this includes all the roulettte moves as well. And there are also some new Godly moves available to be purchased in the store. Most of them are single hits that do about 30 dmg, but there is one that does 100, and in unblockable, and lauches the enemy. Wanna guess how much it costs? Go ahead guess.... 50k? 100k? 200? Try 700,000! Lets just say thank god for the Casino, lol.

How great is stage 4 though? The robots are so satisfying to fight against. I love the weak female ones that you can just send flying with a single kick - its complete carnage when a group of them turn up
I finally got my first level 3 today, and its all flowing a lot better. Demons (finally) are no problem now, even the spiky red ones - I've even started to look forward to them showing up now, as you get a shiny new move at the end. Mind you, I just fought a weird one with a trident who seemed quite tricky (just roulette-ed & god handed him to death though, so can't be sure!) - not sure if they make regular appearances.
