I played the 360 version yesterday and I liked it. It wasn't amazing but I liked it.
However we have just had a gaming night at my friends flat and after around 6 hours on the PS2 one I have seen that the PS2 version is vastly superior. It's faster, more fluid, has more options and generally just plays a better game of football.
It's a shame that Konami have seeminly rushed out an incomplete version of pro evo and have the cheek to charge around ?20 more for it than the superior 'old gen' version.
Also so far I would say that Pro Evo 6 seems to be the definitive version so far. It is faster and more flowing than 5 (which I didn't have a lot of time for) and seems to have a nice balance between the fast kick around of 4 and the superior gameplay of 3.

Is the PC version essentially the PS2 version with better graphics? or a separate game? I presume it's not based on the 360 version?

I might get one of those wireless hubs to let me use my 360 pads on the PC and play it that way.

Yes, the PC version is just the PS2 version, but as you can play it at higher resolutions, it looks a lot better.

I'd pretty much agree with that assessment 100%.

So whats happening with the NTSC-UK Tourny? Alot of epople a shifting about to other versions. I might cancel it and we can set up a new tourny for different versions once everyone has settled in with their favourite version of the game

While the 360 version is pretty frustrating, half the problems people seem to be having are easily fixed if you just know how to play the game properly.

Shooting too high for instance, if you hold the right trigger when you shoot then your shots are much more accurate.

The main reason the 360 version is annoy me right now is becuase to play the game well you really need to think about every move you make, but the A.I. is so agressive you hardly ever have the space to think for a second.

I don't think I'll be taking it back, but will still probabaly get the PC or PS2 version seeing as everyone seems to be agreeing its a much more enjoyable game.

Agree with everyone about the 360 version being the ****ter of the pack. Took my copy back and got the PC version, and it simply pisses all over the 360 version, and I might add it has better graphics to go with that gameplay.

say they have been deluged from late yesterday afternoon getting these back and they have already heard Konami are planning a big patch for it on 360.

Even after the flood of disappointment in the 360 version, i bet it still gets 8 and 9's across the board review wise
I for one hope it gets a bit of a kicking in the press and at retail, in the hope that Konami get their collective finger out for the next one.

True. Shooting over the bar occurs in PS2 and PC versions too. All depends on body orientation, ball placement and careful power bar judement. I think the controls in all versions are very similar, but for some reason the 360 version has been hit with a reality modification. Compared to the PS2/PC versions it is slower paced and shimmy/turning is so much more difficult to pull of. They should of kept the gameplay the same as the PS2/PC versions in my opinion. Were Konami using the 360 as a ginea pig?

I am surprised at the backlash against the 360 version of the game in this thread. My initial impressions of the game weren't good, but after a few hours play I more than fell in love with the new changes. The game feels so much better due to being slowed down, shooting is now a challenge (as it should be) but you can master it. Your players make intelligent runs off the ball, not just for goal scoring opportunities but for simple passes to retain possession/open up space for more passes.

People have moaned in recent years that Fifa is too arcadey and PES is the footballers game of choice due to it playing like real football, and yet Konami go more sim-ish in this years iteration and people are moaning that its not fast enough, too hard to score etc etc (ie its not arcadey enough )

Having played this online endlessly since Friday I am now starting to really enjoy this (360 version).

The game seems to be running pretty smoothly most of the time and I have pretty much got used to the pace of the game.

Its all helped by being on a streak of about 20 games all won or drawn! Won't last long!

My arguement is that PES5 was fine except for the stop and start play which can occur when applying pressure which resulted in fouls a lot more than previous editions. Shingo Seabass said he had addresses this, and indeed he has in Pro Evo 6 (all versions). Now with that sorted out and the inclusion of a few gamplay tweaks, the PS2 version is great. I just would of liked that version of gameplay in the 360 version too, afterall they are named the same game. But after playing both, the 360 is different. The 360 version is a little misleading being named PES6 - I did think it would play like the PS2 version. I still like it mind.

I played this with my bro for a couple of hours tonight, and tbh I wasnt a big fan of PES5. But this....whats happened?! Its like watching womens football, or your mum trying to use the internet. Its just painful......So many stray balls in midfield, hitting the backs of players legs etc. Yes realistic, but it really is a chore to play. So many things to mention, but im just too frustrated to type them all out!!!!

PES4 was the best, its gone downhill from there.
