AI for your teammates is still as bad as ever - they still refuse to run into space if it's more than 20m away from their usual position
What the hell kind of running are you doing? If you want a short turn hold RT or LB, if you're holding RT you have 16-way running...

As mentioned above, just super cancel and you can run wherever and whenever you want.

Your teammates can be made to do almost anything too, try setting up some tactics and offense/defence in the formations. Also use the give-and-go move to have anyone (even a sweeper) lay the ball off and go sprinting upfield.

Can't wait to see what they do with another 6 months/year to get to grips with the devkit.

I haven't set up any formations yet. I'll have to do that later - it was always one of my favourite bits of the game . With every other Pro Evo game though, I could never get my players to run towards a pass. They'll just stand there and wait for it to reach them

Have they fixed your keeper standing around like a lemon when you head a backpass? That always caught me out

I'm starting to hear good things about the PC version's online mode and vastly improved lobby system. May well focus on that version again this year.

Whilst the 360 version is OK, it is a bit disappointing that they haven't really made much of an effort with it and not being able to get online so far is a bit of a bummer.

I've also had slowdown now on not just set pieces, but also in the normal game screen. Have turned off commentary and it still exists.

As a huge fan of Winning Eleven 10, my initial impressions with this are disappointing
The move into Widescreen, though a welcome one, has brought with it the game seeming a lot slower, though i'm sure this is something i will adjust to. The keepers appear to be a step back from the keepers in WE10, with their diving range seemingly more limited and their ability to catch a ball reduced (though i did have Paul Robinson between the sticks, so this may actually be an increase in realism ).
Some of the player likenesses are bordering on comical (check out Rooney and Van Der Sar), and the 360 pad provides the problems i expected it to with only 2 shoulder 'buttons' and pad itself being a little unresponsive. Couple these issues with the castrated edit mode and the lack of replay saving and i think i'll only be playing the 360 installment for online games. I just hope Konami have got that area of the game up and running ok.

Apparently PES6 is slower and slightly different to WE10 in the way it plays. I also heard they were testing a new pad at Konami especially for PES6 360 so see if they release anything soon.

Don't they always make PES a little slower than the WE version? More difficult too.

Well, the 360 version certainly feels different compared to PES5 on the PC. At the moment I'm not sure if that's because I'm getting used to a new controller or what.

But I'll be honest, after playing a patched-up PES5 on the PC, it is a tad disappointing to go on to a version with crappy kits and made-up player names. The slowdown at goal kicks is also very very disappointing and shoddy. The presentation from the menus to the game itself, albeit cosmetic, is a huge let down, it just looks so out of place on the 360.

They've sorted out the niggling fouls which is a great step in the right direction, it really improves the flow of the game when you're trying to put pressure on the opposition.

Anyway, let's get down to some games to try and get things moving....

If they wanted to, could Shingo and the boys make a patch that could add missing features such as a more in-depth EDIT mode etc for in the future?

About the edit-mode in the 360-version: Is it still possible to change team-names? What can be edited, and what can't be edited (compared to PES5)?

Hopefully I can pick it up tomorrow, but I probably have to wait until Friday.

Only had two games on it upto now but what a disappointment. The game feels so sluggish compared to WE10 (in fact compared to PES5 it feels like its running at half speed) it feels as though fast players just can't accelerate, the passing doesn't feel precise, some moves feel more on rails than previous editions .... this is just a complete **** up

hopefully it will improve once i adjust to the speed

Lets just wait before the slagging...

I Remember about a year ago playing PES5 (PSX and XBOX) an thinking it was just not as good as the previous version. After a few tournaments with my mates and hours of online play i has hooked. I think as always it takes time to adjust and fully appreciate the slightly altered gameplay and physics.

To be the man you got to beat the man woooooooooooo!

I've had a good few games on this now and I have to say I'm loving it. The keepers and defensive Ai have been beefed up a little. The speed is lower than WE10 (at least it feels like that in 16:9 with the wide camera), but the game dinks around brilliantly for it.

It's obviously not much of a change from previous versions, but it is still Pro Evo, it is still a great game of football. I'll try online soon and see how that fares.
