Anyhoo I started a split-screen campaign with my lad yesterday and was annoyed to be told...

I would lose my single-player save if I wanted to start a co-op campaign, which i reluctantly did, so I'm now faced with running through all of chapter 4 again in single-player and this time I'll make sure I have a shotgun for that part.

But why...

can i not have a single-player savegame and a co-op savegame!!

lol, we dedicated a couple of grenade throws in your honour last night mate, we called it "doing a capcom"

IMO, it`ll be a while before co-op over live gets old. as has been stated, everytime you play it with someone else, it feels different, and there so many ways to do stuff. plus its got a sniper rifle, so well... thats me covered

i`m so glad this game has such a wry sense of humour, it could so easily have been spoiled by being po-faced & far too serious for its own good tbh. its nice to know the team at epic like stuff like clerks, etc.

. also discovering some of the pistols are insanely powerful was fun too. the way the grubs head seperated from his shoulders was too much fun.

also, hardcore on co-op is right in the sweet spot of how to do these things right. its the perfect level of challenge, risk & reward & ultimately very satisfying when you clear an area, etc. my only regret is it can`t support 4 at a time, then i think we`d never step out of the door ever again...

What is a shame, is the lack of ability of getting four friends playing through a succession of ranked matches (ala' Halo 2) as opposed to the system of being lumped into a random group of people.

Yeah if this had matchmaking then it trully would rival Halo online to me !

Had a couple of good games yesterday afternoon. Was me against momo and some random then Chopemon joined in a believe. I was on fire for a couple of rounds with the sniper and could not be touched. Unfortunately my baby daughter did not appreciate the chainsaw kills and kicked off with the crying which indicated my early exit.

4 good team players going through a matchmaking type system on this would be fantastic, seems really hard to fill unranked matches atm

You mean General Raam on Act 5? He's a bugger, equip the sniper rifile and keep alternating using the Assualt Rifle to get the Kryll away from him, then switch to the SR and get as many headshots in as you can mate, he'll go down eventually.

Took me a good few tries.

Is it possible for friends to be in the same ranked MP match, or is that banned ? Suppose it would be possible via private chat/msn to all view the custom games list at the same time, and jump into the same match. If it is a first to 8/10 match then that will be a good 30 mins of game time, and probs worth the hassle to have a good team !

Completed it and must say lvoed the game from start to finish gonna start hitting the multiplayer hard now as well as another run though of the game

i did it by luring him down to your end of the carriage then roadie running past him and on to the chaingun on the platform where he spawns. me and a mate did it on casual and we just laid into him with grenades and assault rifle fire. by the time i got to the chaingun he only needed one round to go down.

It is but it's a real potch.

If one member hosts a ranked match, it's possible for the rest to grab spots in the match via the custom search menu. Problem is this becomes more difficult as everyones TrueSkill ranks begin to differ.
