If you get the seed packet then there is an option to uproot as well as plant. Think it might be the B button.

I've found that you often highlight items on the garden that don't trigger the right contextual button command - if that happens you can go to the doctor via the menu and highlight it that way - always works for stuff I can't heal or sell.
You might also find you can't select it if it's too close to another item.
If all else fails, beat it silly with the spade as mentioned.

Be SURE you have "finished" with your garden though, because it might muck it up.
Basically, go to the shop and select anything, a seed...whatever and it'll go back to the garden but DON'T place it, then you can just leave it going. Similar method but you don't need a wired pad, when the batteries die apparently it doesn't time out!
I have I think 6 to do, but I can't be arsed...I really want 1000/1000 but some of them are such a pain in the arse to do. Then I'll sell it on.

Well I actually sold my copy not more than an hour ago, so I'm gonna be stuck with 49/50! Not that I mind too much anyway, I'd have left the console on for a couple of hours and then thought "I can't be arsed with this!" and popped in a different game to playDidn't fancy leaving it on for hours on end unattened too much anyway.

After what seems like such a messy and hectic first hour or two with the Pinata's appearing everywhere, the game is now settling down and is flowing at a reasonable pace to get small jobs done throughout the day cycle.
Although the actual game (square) area is quite small, the attention to the graphics is marvellous and is the first game since Oblivion where I watched the sky go by. The environment outside the game area are lovely to look at and makes you want to 'break' outside the barrier and free-roam the outskirts with joy.
I have to say that for a such a game to target the young audience, it is quite difficult and isn't very accessible in the beginning with text-boxes and information popping up all the time but that is from my perspective, mind.
Rare have certainly created a very charming experience indeed.

That is a slightly annoying thing about the game. Once I'd gone through getting most of the achievements, I wanted to have a go at just concentrating on building a really nicely landscaped garden, with paths, trees, fences, ponds here and there, etc..
Problem is I got the "your garden is too full!" message after hardly doing anything. They definitely need to allow you more scope for bigger gardens with more stuff in them, if they do a Viva 2.

Best Rare game in the last five years, IMO. I think it's fantastic.
I'm level 38 now and I'm working on getting an Elephanilla and a
Pigxie - a pig bred with a swan
. I've almost got a Lion and a Fizzilybear too, which both look really cool. I found a cool variant last night - feed a
gooseberry
to a duck and watch what happens
If you want a laugh then go to the Paper Pinata shop and buy a sheep (Goobaa). Buy a shearing shed from Willy and send the sheep to be sheared...when it comes out, it's this skinny little black sheep that shivers and shakes because it's so cold without its wool coat
