    Excite Truck

Not heard anything about this yet so I thought I'd set up the first play. Well what can I say? It's pretty good. At first tilting the wiimote was making me veer off waaaay too sharply but after a few laps I seem to have got the hang of it and can manage to come first in some races.

It's sort of like Burnout-lite. Very simplistic fun. I look forward to unlocking some of the other courses to see how the gameplay varies. At the moment I have seen a POW powerup that lets you smash through trees and a powerup that raises up a ramp and lets you fly through rings for uber pointage.

I think this will be great fun with 2 players!

    I got this today too.

You didn't mention the ****ing AWFUL music. What were they thinking!

Great looking game though, as smooth as a baby's arse and handles real well. Lot's to do and unlock, seem's like a very solid game.

What's up with the 2 minute loading times though?

Yeah the music is a bit meh, can you add custom soundtracks from the SD card??!! hehe

It does look the nuts as you say. It plays really well too, loads of fun. It's like when you were a kid and first picked up a joypad and moved it to steer rather than just relying on the d-pad!!

I haven't noticed the loading times myself. Think they are that bad?

Base, I got a disc error on my third race and it said to restart the Wii. Did that and the load times reduced a fair amount. Have no idea why that happened.

I did notice that in the music options, it was greyed out but you can have custom soundtraks from your SD card! Need a new SD card now!

Gone back to playing Zelda, but can't wait to jump back into this. Such a bright looking game, doesn't take itself seriously and is more fun for it.

Good news the custom soundtracks thing works quite well. I put some Kings of Leon (thought it would suit the game!) into a 'Music' folder on the SD and then that music option allowed me to move this to 'random music' which plays the MP3s (in game only) - if you pause it (with +) you can change the SFX volume and music volume to get the balance right.

Not quite as good as being able to stream from the PC like the 360 but a welcome feature to overcome generic rock twaddle!!

Put a load of time into this last night, I lost about 5hrs!

While racing there's so much eye candy passing you by, it's like Waverace64 again.

Am I right most reviews mentioned a lack of longevity to this? BS to me. Not only are there a ton of tracks, you have an extra difficulty to unlock. Then you have achievement's for the completist, do so many 5star drifts, jumps, smashes, ring and S-Rank trophy's. I think this unlock's more truck's too.

Really addictive stuff and show's what the wii is capable off.

Fantastic game, it pulled me off Zelda for God's sake!

I think graphically this is nothing that couldn't have been done on the cube but as a demo of how the wiimote can be used this is perfect. I love pick up and play stuff like this, it's not taxing on the grey-matter at all, perfect after a gruelling day at work!

Gutted both this and trauma center have been put back here would have made for two great launch day games. Noe strikes again even before launch it would seem.

This is just a taster of the misery NOE will put you through. Wait til they can't release VC games because they have to be translated into Urdu first or something! After my experiences with the cube I can't trust NOE again! When does Excite Truck get it's PAL launch then?

Now I was thinking about this earlier and I'm gonna have to disagree. The speed at which everything moves and the water effects alone...imo I don't think it's pushing the wii but I don't think it could be done on GC. Regardless, look's fab

I have yet to play it in 480p so I can't comment! The snow stage on the attract screen looks lush however! can't wait for that one! I'm still in the desert!

question.. i am going to come off really stupid but.. how do you get the music on the sd card so you can listen to it on the Wii??

Does it have to go through your phone?

                        Am i retarded?

                          1. Plug SD card into PC
                          2. Transfer music from PC to SD card (using explorer)
                          3. Plug SD card into wii.

Maybe I'm oversimlifying it but I'd imagine that's how you do it.
