wonky background controls? i don't know why people are having problems with the controls, i picked them up straight away. i haven't played it as much as you guys. im only on mission 3, but i always find myself going back and doing them again to find the medals.

That boss is a bit of an ass, but it's not so hard once you know what your meant to do.I just got in the mech (perhaps grab the rocket launchers for the mech by the door if you need the ammo, though you shouldn't), jump/hover over her and out of the warehouse, and just keep walking backwards and hitting her with rockets. Her worse attack is that laser, just be sure to jump/hover over it.Comment

Of all the things to moan about. I used to be able to only play southpaw too until some games didn't include the option so I learned to play the right handed way. I've been plugging away at Lost Planet and I'm not sure if I'm getting it or not yet. Took the advice of a few people and set the controls to fixed as opposed to accelerate and fared better online at least but the single player game is still a bit different from what I'm used to.
What I like most about it so far is the superficial stuff really. The art style, the explosions and the cool bugs but it plays like some mish mash of a western 3rd person shooter and something a bit more Japanese like PN03.
I really don't want to give up on it but I just find it so tough to adjust.
Before I make up my mind 100% though, I want to try some organised team games with people I know as opposed to Japanese and French chappies with voice masks on who like to teamkill!Comment

I sometimes think all that smoke/explosion is masking stuff behind it, like it couldn't do both at the same time hehe or something. I think as great as it looks sometimes its TOO much and it makes it unplayable.
It's a good game for me, but it's held back by numerous gameplay faults that stop it ever being anything more than a good/okay game.Comment
