with gun valkirie the first challenge is the controls

lost planet is very simple by comparison

with valkirie there is ALOT of using both analogue sticks at the same time also vital manouevers are done by clicking in the the analogue sticks and pressing a direction and while being attacked it has a opening playthrough that shows the game being played well when you get good at you will stay in the air for a long time.

Fly in from the left or right, making sure to strafe his rockets or plasma fire, you should get a feel for the rockets and will be able to time when they are going to self-destruct. Hold down L+R during your strafe and when close enough make sure he isn't prepping any form of attack and unleash the sword attacks by releasing L+R, if you release one after the other you may be lucky enough to land the one-two combo. Back off a fair bit and repeat. When he starts firing off his 5-way laser and 8-way homing lasers (50&#37 strafe in again but this time combo in A and Y for descents and ascents to avoid his 'X axis' attacks. He took me about 30mins on hard.

If I finish this on Normal will I unlock Extreme or do I have to finish on Hard first?

Normal will do mate. Glad I did it on hard though as the bosses aren't quite as tough in comparison, plus it taught me to go after the thermal energy storage vats rather than dataposts. Completely caned through the 2nd mission up to the boss on extreme last night on meh 1st do - just like Arnie would if he was acting as Wayne.

Capcom are on to some real IP here. I hope we see another game eventhough the ending doesn't show hope for a sequel.

Aye, he's a bit planty innit.

It was so satisfying killing that t**t.

Also mate, last night when you said the moth was a c**t do you mean the optional achievement moth or the boss (that is actually a wasp on closer inspection)?

Can't wait until 1-player is out the way, then I can just get in each night and jump right online.

Up to mission 9 on SP now - Everything is so good with one exception - the "narrative" - Don't think I've ever seen such an eclectic mix of stunning graphics mixed with horrific dialogue/narrative and delivery.

Very intriguing mix - But the story is the least of my worries

And Jebus - Rolling sideways is your friend whenever you get caught in a "death shower" and can't escape.

Yeah I meant the Wasp. Seen the moth flying around but have left him be for the moment. Love the way the

Wasps appear as little enemies after that

                  - metroid again.

                    Ah ok, for the wasp...

from the start you need to jump back down the cliff to the datapost to pick up the 'jumping' mech, I was finding it impossible with the supplied mech - god knows what it's going to be like with NO mechs this time ><

Big up to teh S1ngh who told me that. Not that you need telling as yer on mish 5 now anyhow. ><

Yoshi - I love the narrative! It's just like Res Evil! And Yuri is like Wesker.

So is the moth able to be killed on Level four? I had a few shots at it last night with the rocket launcher but lost interest in him tbh. I thought the end of level boss was him, but no it's a wasp! I've just started level five which has the mothy fella floating about again, when is the best time to cap him?
I thought level four was great, I really liked the warehouse fight with the three mechs and loads of pirates. The gum grenades came in very useful as I didn't have a mech.
I assume the pirates are intentionally funny? I can't stop laughing at them muttering stuff in their death throws. "I'm not gonna die!" etc. And they all sound Polish or something. Great game really enjoying it. It's a tough one though in places. Perhaps the people finding it a slog should drop the difficulty a little. It's meant to be fun afterall.

There should be a big mech laser up the cliff face somewhere at the beginning of the level. I haven't killed him myself yet, saving these big basts for extreme mode.

I laugh everytime they sound like they're shouting "Ma maw!" in scottish! ><

                        ---

Yeah, just had a thought - after this is bagged on extreme I'm going to start again on easy with the intention of going through the levels blowing EVERYTHING up! Sons of bitches must pay!

Ah, that makes sense. I only had a quick look around Lv5, I kept falling back down the cliff! So after about 5 tries I thought bugger it,and turned it off.
Oh my favourite mech so far, has to be the jumping one! Amazing little platforming bit at the end of mission four I thought.

Why don't you just jump the mech up to the top? Surely there's more space to manouver up there...

Because on every restart it places you on the tops to begin with, so you need to jump down out of the battlefield to get it again.

Wait until you fight Green Eye Jimmie if you want to see a decent mech.

I started at the top with that mech every time...

If you go up with the mech before you hit the checkpoint, you always start with it...At least it did when I did that level.

I've been through that level a fair few times now too every time it's started in that mech after I've died.

Is this a difficulty specific thing?
